I see these cams ground for Turbo applications on TTR...

Does this do anything? my guess would be a longer exhaust duration or something to help spool faster.. but... thats just a guess...

no one makes cams for the lsj. gm racing had them ground by comp in tn from blanks, then they had the hex key pressed in. if you want cams, you have to take your stockers and have them ground to the specs you want.

so looking at that the stockers make the best power up to 5250 and then all the others make more and fall off less and you really dont make power past 6500 with the stockers or 272s

Why are you bumping this thread? It has already been shown that the testing was too inconsitent to be of any value to use. Timing changes as much as 5 degrees and AFR as much as a full point richer. It's too many variables being changed to show a TRUE comparison. The fact that the stock cams beagn to fall off in this test before any other stock cam dyno means something is seriously wrong here.

Because they do not produce em anymore to my knowledge, unless you get some type of custom grind...

i think you missed the point, he wasnt showng what would make the best hp, he played with the numbers to show the cam power curve for each. thats why each has diff a/f and all that jazz...

and the m62 is the problem with power not the cams, to a point

confused

Ok, so I starting looking into getting some 252 cams and i have read somethings on here that have left me confused.

Stock Cam + Adj Gears = Same power as after market cams?

What is a good cam to use to get to the 300 mark? I looked at the Comp Cams site and the highest I saw was 252's for the blower application.

Im trying to learn about internals here that I am going to start my build and do most of it myself minus the tuning

the info on the cams in this thread are more or less out dated. the gmr cams with solid lifters will produce great numbers. for simple drop in cams. zzp has them.

cam gears move the power band around.

No CPS.

If I were to buy blanks and have them ground, but didn't have te CPS hex pressed in and ran without it, what kind of havoc could be done? Not willing to unplug and find out.
