can i drive it??

i put together parts for a stage 2 and im getting a ottp pcm with a gm stage 2 tune on it. After installing the pcm i know i need a case crank relearn. Can the car be driven without the relearn? Will it be a problem if i drive an hour or so without the relearn??

Also... Someone below posted to just uplug the battery for 30 min. Will this really achieve the same benefits as the case crank relearn??

Nope. You'll get codes but shouldn't hit limp mode.

You know you can just unplug the battery for like 30 minutes or so and it'll do it...er should do it. It takes the same time to do the relearn. Why is waiting another 30 minutes a problem?

You need to take the car to a dealer and have a relearn does this achieves is it relearns the angle between the crank sensor and crank shaft reluctor ring. This will not be achieved be taking power away froma battery.

I need to know as well if I will have to do a case relearn with the OTT PCM because I'm gonna get their stage 1. Also, what to say to the dealership if you don't want to loose your warranty? Do they get in "suspect" mode if you tell them to do a case relearn to your car? I dont want them to flash my OTT PCM back to stock!

Maybe we can do the case relearn ourself? If yes how could we do it? I would prefer this!!!

A tech 2 is the easy way to do it. It usually cost about 40~60 depending on your dealer. It takes all of 3 mins to do and would not mess with your tune. They really don't have to pop your hood to do it either.
