some of the GM stage kits have not been performing the way they're suppose to., some Cobalts have gone down in power since the stage 2 was put in. this is an example of poor tuning from the dealer. With a wideband scanner and HP tuning software, the optimal numbers can bve achieved... I dont know why there is talk that TAG'z dyno is wanky.. My dynoed great, so did my buddies sentra , type R and lude... When there tuning mine you guys should all be there, and then you can decide if you want to tune it or not.

I'm assuming a custum tune for every car right?
so:
before they do any tune on your car, they will have to log all your cars current info and that file is saved as stock, then they tune from there. so if you ever want to go back to stock tune, you'll have to go to someone with the tuner to flash you back to stock

no, you can set eveything with the hp tuners. all they would have to do is hook your car up and reset all your settings back to stock, it would probably take 20 mins... GM FLASH, this term is just referring to the dealer reprogramming your pcm.. The hp tuners software reprograms everything, you can change anything you want, EX: increase rev limiter, take out your 02's whatever you want

did Mel give you any idea about how much he's going to charge, when he was trying to sell me on the Big Stuff engine management, he tolled me that when ever I added something else to the car, it would cost like $50 to re tune from his original tune, which was like $300

he'll log all your current info from your stage 2, save it
then start tuneing, save the new tune or tunes to your car, and he should give you the bin fils to your tunes to keep for yourself.

personally I thing the clutch and flywheel should be first, the flywheel will change the way the car behaves, but it's not that critical.

you need to prolly do a clutch and flywheel, there will be to much power for your orig clutch to handle. I only have 8500 on mine and the stage 3 is already to much power for it to handle...

OUTPR4MZ thanks for kind words
We can certainly help the cobalt crowd out with some custom tuning.
The Hptuners software is very powerfull and lots can be done with it.

We at Tagracecraft have been in business for over 15 years and have lots of expierence with tuning from carbs to Fuel injected vehicles.Owning a dyno now for 6 years <one of the first in ontario>
We can tune Fast Accel Gen7 bigstuff3 Halltech Ls1edit Hptuners Efilive to name a few of the top of my head
Something people have to remember is tuning any car is not one size fits all
We tailor every tune to the car... there is no canned tuning.
A custom tune usaully takes about 2-3hours depending for the cobalt guys we will do a flat rate tune with a wideband.
Any questions feel free to ask

Jim

Well considering what a Gm stage II flash costs we think 450 for a custom dyno tune would be more than fair.
Again this is tailored to your car and mods you have made.

wow...this is exactly what I'm looking for. I always check the Canada section but not other sections (got RLforum for that). So when's this software gonna be in??? I really need a tune, I'm throwing P1182 and P0068 all over the place.

P1182 is I think cause of my ram air mod (basically removed some piping and K&N drop in filter) I got this after I did the mod. But now I get P0068 which is limp mode and I get this everytime I pass 5k rpm mark. This kicked in right after I put the 2.86" pulley on. I basically need the parameters which trigger these errors changed.
