Car not starting (electrical)

posted this in the problems section, but it's dead so I decided to try here.

My car (2007 SS LSJ) will not start. I put the key in, and as soon as I go to accessory power it blows fuse 16 in the passenger kick panel (ign, heated seats, pass airbag). I'm guessing it's a short to ground, but I have no idea where to look. The car got a new motor 500 or so miles ago, so I'm thinking a wire could have gotten snagged when installed. I have very little electrical background, but I'm at least going to give this a shot before it goes in. any tips on where to look?

I would start by checking continuity between an accessory wire and ground. If you find a circuit with a short to ground, then try unplugging the coil harness and injector harness and see if it changes. Otherwise, see if it still blows the fuse with certain things unplugged. It could be the heated seats causing the problem. Electrical problems are nearly impossible to diagnose from a far. Try to think of anything that has been modified lately and look there.

Yeah I know it's not the heated seats or clutch switch.

Just hoping somebody can give me more ideas of where too check.
