Catalyst Issues!!! Need some help

wel my cat is shot, rattling, overboosting, lack of power

i was thinking of getting the CA 2.5 with hi flow cat but unsure if it will fail later down the road
plu $$$ are very tight for me and the family

so option A
get a CA DP with cat...hope for decent gains and reliability

option B
go cat less and have other issues including inspections (in another few years)
also much louder and that sounds shitty
go catless on the stock DP by knocking the guts out of the cat or cut and weld a straight piece there

OPtion C
Fill me in cuz i needz the ideas

BTW it failed due to running rich and it finally gave out when car stalled on highway and it flooded with fuel when it restarted

ceramic cores on forced induction vehicles is not good. not sure why gm did this in the first place. three options i dealt with.

first, i started to melt the magnaflow ceramic within 4k miles. not good. took it off and put a resonator in it's place.

this is one option.

second, find a steel core cat. vibrant has them.

third. pipe it. meaning cram a pipe in it and deal with the noise for a bit.

The ZZPerformance Downpipe with cat is what I have had for almost a year now and love. If you need to save money, you can go to Lewisville Muffler and have them replace just the cat. I still have my stock downpipe if you are interested. Maybe you could have your friend hook me up with a tune?? Whatever you do, don't go catless. The little bit of extra power is worth the bs associated with it.

I don't think the warranty route would be a good idea due to the amount of mods you have. I think it would be a waste of your time.

the zzp (magnaflow) cat will clog up too if your tune is rich (but if you have a dyno tune, you have no warranty.. so i guess you would have to buy one

OK first thanks for the help guys

update: i got to work(it was getting worse) so i put it up on the lift
knocked on it like u knock on a door and it sounded shelled

so i took the downpipe loose on the resonator side and stared the car and blew a ton of chunks out, so then i used my snapon mallet and pounded the case and got the rest of the Catalyst bricks out of there

BTW they were melted like slag

This happened due to the car shutting off after i threw a cam sensor code on the highway, i mashed the gas and popped the clutch to restart the car and it had straight raw fuel in the pipe

The warranty has never been a problem for me because they dont know the extent of the mods and tuning done
plus im a technician and have applyed there in the past
but i do not want them on my case esp since i now have hollowed it out

i still have leaks at both flanges of my DP (have for a while) so i definatly want a new downpipe and the steel gaskets they come with
i do run very rich and am goin to pull some fuel(and put on my new TB which drop the AF a full point im told ) so this doesnt occur again

we tuned it rich in the first place to save cyl 4

also NEW DP is goin to be catted as all my cars in the past have been catless and have a bitch of a time with them

also warranty could never tell i have a tune as the files are not readable by Tech 2
but they might not like that i have a header and a cat thats empty now(sounds like a bell when you hit the pipe)

so WHICH DP W/CAT SHOULD I GO WITH???

CA?
ZZP?
Random tech and the others are nice but high dollar

Keep the cat. The gain is not worth the bs assosciated with it. You know that. If interested and short on cash, I still have my stock downpipe and cat in my closet.
