not only does a lsj sound like ****, but catless downpipe with a aftermarket exhaust is loud as **** and will be a nice target for the cops.

The only problem is that the sound is not as pleasing to some, as it is to others.

For the whole back-pressure argument: 1.75" primaries, 3" DP, 2.5" cat-back.. For an M62 LSJ.

People running 3" and catless all the way back on the M62 are, for lack of a better word, stupid. Unless you are TVS or turbo swapped, no.

^---Yup agree.. I have zzp long tube, catless downpipe to 2.5 cutback and sounds fine, make sure u get a big, BIG resonator and a good muffler, ... my car sounds fine at idle and cruising, but my muffler is gone so at WOT it sounds like a bee hive decided to hold a weedwacker convention under my hood.. oh its loud as f#@! too. Lol

I totally disagree! I went with a highflow cat and added a dynomax superturbo muffler and my car has a nice low tone with noo rasp. Going catless is not a good idea unless you don't give a **** about rasp and loudness all the time when driving.

Exactly. I have a magnaflow resonator and a magnaflow muffler.

Also, what is your opinion in "big"? Length wise/height wise.

Okay, well this isn't an "I disagree, I agree" situation. PLENTY of people have catless setups and they sound great. Facts are facts.

Yes, some sound like ****. Is this due to being catless? No. It is poor choice in resonator and muffler choice.

Once again,

That may be so, however in Dezzie's case he cannot go catless as he lives in a place(nova scotia), where vehicle inspections are very strict. Hell we can't even have a straight through muffler as that will fail vehicle inspection also. So really a highflow cat is the only answer and while it may give up a few ponies vs catless. I'd rather have a vehicle I can drive legally as opposed to not having one to drive at all and fail inspection.

this. No offence ment by this. But i highly doubt dezzie will be racing legally to a point where the extra few hp will come into play. So whats the point of doing it if you are only going to fail MVI's and get busted by the cops. And if that bitch is still on city counsel, i think she is still trying to ban all aftermarket exhaust systems, if it doesnt come from factory, it's banned...not sure if thats still a on-going thing or not.

its not canada, its that province and city. I moved here to the west coast of canada almost 2 years ago and i've never had problems with cops with exhaust, tint or anything. Although they did pass a db law for exhaust's here. They are targetting bikes though.

However, when i sold my cobalt it had a header, 3" dp with hi-flow cat and 3" maganflow exhaust. It was loud and raspy...sounded like ass. I never got in **** for it but a few montths after the guy bought it, he claims he got a ticket for tint and exhaust tip being to large....not exhaust being to loud but the tip being to large...never heard that law before. But even though he denied it, i say he was doing something to get the cops after him. Cops are cool here and only come after you, if you act like a retard.

Yeah exactly man , you know how it is down here. Thats why I had to buy a chambered muffler to make sure I passed inspection, plus I needed to get a tune because of the check engine light from the highflow cat. And yeah that dumb bitch is still trying to ban other **** downhere. I joined a group on facebook about it. I dont think its been updated for awhile though so maybe those ******** will ease off lol.

Thats why i love and hate it out here. Theres no MVI's. If you have a car and you move here, you do a Out of Province Inspection and thats it. Its good for guys like us that take pride in our cars and maintain it and also want to add stuff that would cause us to fail a inspection. But its also bad because you got cars on the road that are falling apart and are unsafe. I seen one car with missing front and rear bumper, smashed tail lights and headlights, exhaust hanging on the ground shoot sparks everywhere....i see that every day, its retarded and dangerous.

thats why i was thinking the guy that bought my balt is full of ****. He said he wasnt speeding or anything. I met him, i know his type and he also said when he got pulled over he was coming back from the drag strip, when he forgot his helmet so he was trying to get home quick to get it, before tech closed. And my trucks exhaust tips are alot bigger then the balts were.

no, plenty of people just will not admit that their catless lsj sounds like ****

catted and still isn't anything to brag about. catless just sounds like a pissed off cat.

wow that must suck having to get car inspected and to pass that ****.

dont have none of that in michigan. some cities have db laws but they dont take affect till like 11pm and no1 cares. tint laws are pretty stupid in MI but everyone has 5% all around anyway.

catted/catless i dont think its that big of deal. i cut the cat off every thing i own.(my balt still has one atm though)

if you go catless and pair it up with the right parts it'll sound good. all in all it depends on what type of sound the user is looking for.
