I chased my misfire for a year before I gave in and actually took it to a mechanic.turns out I had four wires that had rubbed raw somewhere.they were sending a seriously screwed signal and thus causing misfire.

this, intake side leak or bad plugs, coils, etc

I still have my 42s if you want em.

I just talked to a follow 2.2 on a 3.065 pulley who has 42's, and they are running at 96% duty. Ill stick with my 60's to be safe

honestly bro, think about the code for a second: p0300: random misfire...if it was an injector issue, don't you think it would've given you a specific cylinder where the misfire was occurring? Here's my advice: pull the spark plugs and get out a spark plug chart. Spark Plugs are a great tool for diagnosing random misfiring b/c it can help you narrow down the problem from fuel, air, or spark issues. Obviously, we can rule out compression b/c your car is fine. So checking the spark plugs for all the tell-tale signs will help track it down.

That's true, but I have less than a thousand miles on my plugs, so they will probably be new looking

i had less than 1000 miles on my car when it had ottp's stage kit (2.8, 60's, blah blah), and when I pulled the plugs on it I could tell right away that I had a rich condition in my car. Those plugs smelled like they had been bathing in fuel.

Random Misfire Code can also be caused by a faulty / failing crank position sensor.

Anyone still having this problem with nothing obvious to point to, should do a Crankshaft position (CKP) variation learn. This solved my CEL and idle issues. Even feels like the car picked up a little.
