cavalier fuel rail
im in a bit of a bind right now. long story short i have a broken fuel rail and so far havent been able to get one local. powell race shop might have one for me, im just trying to come up with a backup plan.
the fuel rail in question here is the 2002 l62 ecotec fuel rail, found in cavaliers, sunfires and grand ams. i know this rail has been used for return style fuel systems on the lsj and essentially bolts in. in fact, aside from the 2002 l61 rail having a hole for a return fitting, it looks identical on the outside to the lsj rail. my question has to do with the inside of the rail. im assuming that because this rail is a return style and the regulator is in the end of the rail (where the damper is on the lsj rail) that there is a passage in the rail from the regulator to the return line hole. am i correct assuming this? now would i be able to put the lsj damper into this rail and block the return line hole? this is what im thinking of doing as these rails are readily available in my local wrecking yard.
any input on any of this? im going to guess ill be the first trying to convert an 02 l61 rail to returnless for an lsj as most people arent stupid enough to break their fuel rail.
