CEL codes, need some insight.

Ok, I've had a couple CEL codes pop up since i've bought my car (2006 SS/SC). I had them ran once, the couple I had a week ago or so were all related to a vacume leak, I found the leak, fixed it and had the codes cleared. Drove the car for around 50 miles and the CEL comes back on. This time the codes read P0171 and P0496. The guy at autozone says it "could be" a vacume leak. I'm at a loss, anyone with any experience in this aera could shoot me some advice would be apreciated. All I know is I hate running with the CEL on, it drives me crazy thinking somethings wrong. BTW, the car runs great and idles fine.

When the lsjs get the ole p0496 its usually the purge valve on top the engine... Only time its a leak is when its in theemissions system. The valve is like 20-40$ so its cheap.

P0171 is a lean code means trims are to lean. . Either a vacuum leak, spark blowout under idle or faulty ignition system, maf sensor issue, exaust leak, or if you have mods and not tuned or not tuned correctly

No mods yet, and not tuned. Maybe that P0171 is comming from a vacuum leak thats illuded me Just cant see it being a vacuum leak, its idleing and running very smooth. I'll check it all again though.

I kind of have the same problem...My 07 ss/sc had a crack on the flex pipe of the down-pipe and the check engine light came on...then after a while when i went to fill up my gas tank it would turn on for a few seconds, idle funny and shut off. I then try to turn it on again and it would take a little longer then normal to turn on..I finally changed the down pipe to a 2.5 zzp downpipe and also installed a 2.5 catback exhaust, unplugged the negative from the battery terminal and let the computer relearn everything..50 miles into driving it, the check engine light came back on..took it to autozone and codes p0171 bank 1 system too lean came on twice and p0496 evaporative emission system high purge flow popped up...I want to change the solenoid but i want help first please and thank you in advance. Also same thing continues when i fill up at the gas station and i have no other mods
