i was driving today and floored it through all the gears and at around 5500 rpm it would not rev any high then i shifted to fifth and i could feel something slipping or something. i could not go much faster than 100mph. then the check engine light started blinking so i drove like normal for a little and it stopped. any ideas? im guessing my transmission is about to go.

this guy at work said something about his old civic had a problem and he thought his tranny was messed up and he took it to this shop and it ended up being just the muffler. and my exhaust is sounding like **** and rattling when i rev it up.

The car was picking up a misfire or emissons code that's what happens it blinks like that

 

what is was ur boost gauge doing? if it was going nuts prob ur cat going out.
