Looks good, bit pricey for the shorty header, iam going to go with zzp header, and the gm manifold, but i dont know if the gmpp manifold will bolt up to a 3inch dp.

Hmmm. I don't know if it will either. I have 2.5" XTC DP on the way and GM performance exhaust already here. I'm suposed to get the GMPP manifold from a member for $150.00
Hopefuly it works out but if not I need to find a header.

That is a nice looking header. Shortbus are you getting the ZZP ceramic coated header (TOG)?

Well if you ordered the downpipe there is no need for a long tube header so it's either ZZP, Clear Image or JBP right?

I'm unsure of which header (ZZP TOG or Pacesetter) and downpipe (XTC or ZZP) to go with to add to my GMPP Exhaust.

Could you explain as to why you would chose those two? Just curious since I am looking to finish my exhaust as well this week.

I like that combo a lot. Don't you have to cut and weld the pacesetter header to the DP?
From what I hear it's not a direct bolt on.

LOL...I made a post with a poll asking about which combo of header/downpipe I should go with. Most of the comments from that post and other posts that I have read say to go with XTC Downpipe and Pacesetter header, however, the poll results show that the ZZP TOG Headers and ZZP Downpipe are the better choice. LOL I'm unsure of which route to go now.

You will have to cut and weld because the pacesetter uses a ball and socket type collector not a flange and gasket. If you can weld it shouldn't be that big a deal.

P.S. Isn't there supposed to be an XTC header for us soon??

If it means welding and it one of the better combo/prices than its worth it,as for the poll you would hope that peaple are not posting on it for the hell of it

I agree. I finally made up my mind on the downpipe and I took advantage of the group buy deal and got the XTC Downpipe. I have time to think about the header since it will be about 10 days for the downpipe to ship. I'm thinking that the Pacesetter may be a good choice.

I'm thinking the pacesetter also, but i hope it can be welded to the xtc 3inch dp i ordered.

I just spoke with Dan from Clear Image on the phone a couple days ago.

He said that the prototype he had welded up was made without having a car present - just from measurements taken off a stock manifold. To make a long story short, it didn't fit right.

They are scraping the idea of making a shorty and instead are working on making a long tube. They will have a Cobalt in their shop in about 2 weeks to fabricate one for a customer.

I'll keep you updated as I hear more.

That's unfortunate. I was really looking forward to the Clear Image Shorty.

Interesting, I spoke to dan a few weeks ago about the shorty and he'd said there was clearance issues, but they would redesign it and build a TRI-Y long tube at the same time... He didnt mention scrapping the shorty at all.

Well, I hope they do make both, but that's not the impression I got from talking to him.

He expressed concern about being able to make a stainless long tube at a competitive price (I told him about the $700 CTI/w cat and the $600 weapons R wo/cat).

He is either going to go all stainless, high end (with dyno results to back up the hp gains,) or offer a mild steel version to compete on the lower end of the price curve.

He said he would let me know soon. I told him that I would post up whatever his final decision was. We last spoke Wed. 8/23.

Damn that sucks. Maybe they will make both but who knows.
No such thing as a bolt-on inexpensive quality header for the 2.0 hah?
Well ZZP's doesn't look bad.
