Which clutch
Which clutch
Which clutch would you suggest to support the mods listed in my signature. I want something streetable, but able to hold up to the abuse of an occaisonal track visit. On another note, would the clutch that is in the ss/tc work in the ss/sc?

Yes but you need some diff. parts, like an 08 throw out bearing. When testing is done GM is looking to produce an upgraded clutch for the f35 tranny. It is going to be marketed for the sstc but will be available for the sssc.
I just got a jumpy...gm plans to make an uprgraded clutch that will also fit the ss/sc??!!
It's probably the best bet if you need it right now.
I would think so being that the turbo ss has more power from the factory than the SS/SC. I was thinking that if the turbo ss clutch would work in the ss/sc that I would go that route, but I don't think anybody knows for sure and I don't feel like making my tranny the test pig.
The only one I have seen from them though is the $1200 clutch and flywheel combo. I don't want that. I just want a clutch and pressure plate that can easily handle what i am giving it now and still be as streetable as possible because it is my only car.
Well when you replace your clutch don't forget about the flywheel. You're going to at least need to get it resurfaced. However just like brake rotors they have specs that they need to meet so you may end up needing to get a flywheel anyway.
All Ecotec is running a special on Exedy Hyper Singles. This is the best clutch by far, especially for the mods you have. Here is the link https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/supporting-vendor-deals-group-purchases-133/%2A%2Aexedy%2A%2A-exedy-%2A%2Aexedy%2A%2A-exedy-%2A%2Aexedy%2A%2A-exedy-%2A%2Aexedy%2A%2A-exedy-%2A%2Aexedy%2A%2A-exedy-exedy-117523/. I installed one in my son's SS/SC last weekend.

If I were to go the clutch and flywheel route, I would go with the centerforce DFX. I like the ball bearings on the pressure plate which would make for eassy engagement. I know that the flywheel must be resurfaced, but I would prefer to stay with the stock flywheel and just get a solid clutch. I think the spec stage II is a solid clutch from what I have read.

Once you actually hold that stock flywheel in your hand and realize how much heavier it is over a light weight setup you would probably change your mind. But if you plan on only buying the clutch then there are few choices that fit the stock flywheel.
The stock flywheel is not flat past the friction surface!
