Clutch problem

So today I was at a red light waiting for it to turn green. Had the car in frist witht he clutch in. All the sudden heard a boom and the car lurched forwarded and I rearended the car in front of me. Now I can't get into gear, clutch has no pressure. Think the pressure plate broke?

Well its very hard on your throw out bearing if you keep the clutch engaged at a light...im not sure if it is hard on the pressure plate?

If your car jerked forward i don't think you clutch plate is gone. does your clutch pedal go to the floor and not come back up? If so read this thread of my delema.

hope this is not happening to you.

Damn, well thanks for the input. Its just weird that it happened. Hopefully they warranty it. I know they gave me a rental and said it will be dont by next week.

No, it comes back up, but theres nothing there until the bottom where the clutch pedal and floor meet, there is a little pressure, but barely anything

No. There is the Brake master/cyl and also a clutch master cyl. The clutch slave/throwout is in the bell housing of the trani.

Trust me because I had to do all the research to tell Jack Carter how to fix it. If it were not for the guys in my thread that piped in "Sneaky" the car still would not be fixed or in the process of being fixed.

cheers

Atleast you found the problem. Hopefully mine gets fixed smoothly. I know poppagun works at the dealer I took my car took and I talked to him while there. Hopefully I find out by the end of the day. I do know my blower fan for the ac was making a noise, cat was making a loud rattling noise, back seat makes a loud squeaking noise while driving. I've had many problems with the car. This is all since 12/20/2007. When I bought it

I am thinking once I get this fixed I might cut my losses and sell this POS. I have had nothing but problems clutch wise with this car. Other than that nothing else has gone wrong.

History of this car: I bought it used with 19000 on the clock. It had a Clutch Masters first gen FX400 paired with a fidanza fly. That clutch failed. Installed new clutch, Spec Stage 3/fly combo plus new Slave/throwout bearing (2500 CAD after labour), It has been in three times for the shifter roll pin snapping. This was covered under warranty but after the third time they removed warranty on the clutch. Now this clutch master cylinder problem which by the way I have to pay for is probably going to cost upwards of 1400 CAD by the time they add up labour, parts. I have already replaced the tires after just one year and I don't go spinnin wheels all over the place. (1200 CAD). The dash peices have all been replaced. all under warranty though. The brakes have been turned twice in less than one year. So after all is said and done you still have to factor in down time for me because of that thing being in the shop so much.

Thais car is just to costly to maintaine.
