probably...

but honestly, if you don't give a crap about running a catless downpipe, why do you care about a cel, especially if you know it's only from the catless pipe?? i wouldn't be worried about a cel, i would be worried about emisions...

Won't the cel put the car in some sort of limp mode?

has to do with emissions... basically, the gasses that are supposed to be burned up in the cat didn't get burned up... the 02 sensor registers that the unburned fumes are coming through and sets the code off.

if you get a high flow cat it will help a little bit... it's not going to be a huge gain at all, but it will be something...

not that i can remember off the top of my head... but that's the job of the 02 sensor that sits below the cat.. it's pretty much guaranteed the give a CEL

i realize that the O2 sensor will def. be seeing different gases, but i dont think its going to throw a code. it might burn up faster though

it is not necessarily going to see something as malfunctioning. for example, my blazer's cat went out and we just "replaced it" haha, and i never had a CEL, almost positive it had an O2 sensor after it too. oh yeah and it had 180,000 miles on it

after 180,000 the 02 sensor was probably covered with so much **** it wasn't working anymore...

anything is possible, but i would pretty much bet anything that it would give a code... anyways, maybe we should see who was a catless dp and see what they say...

well that doesnt make any sense because then it wouldnt be seeing normal conditions, and thus would read it as a malfunction. in which case you said it would throw a code. i started a thread to see what people are experiencing. again, you could most def. be right i just hope not because this is my next mod
