WOT= Wide Open Throttle, when you have the pedal all the way down to the floor, it opens up the throttle body and lets in all the air it can take in. When you shift at WOT (powershift) you just don't take your foot off of the gas when you push in the clutch.

NO, I said WOT= WIDE OPEN THROTTLE, you Go WOT when you power shift. And just for your benifit, if you are having this much trouble understanding it, I wouldn't attempt it if I were you. You can easily mess something up if you aren't a more experienced driver. Beware.

I haven't had the luxury of owning a great car to WOT Shift in... Besides a z28 Chevy Camaro (2001), but it was an automatic, so that really wouldn't work.

Since the Cobalt SS responds to WOT Shifting very well, what exact RPMS are you reaching when you shift each shift? Or is it redline everytime? I've heard of people doing this differently for other cars, I wanted to know what your personal preferance was.

So you just mash the gas as you push in the clutch. But on the way out what do you do? Are you still on the pedal all the way?

You want to do it a couple hundred RPM Before Redline, when you go to shift, leave it floored, push in the clutch and shift as fast as you can. Then just dump the clutch back out as fast as you can. The reason I say a couple hundred before redline, is that when you push in the clutch to shift, it will jump up really quick. Just practice and get your shifting down really quick before you attempt it. Especially with your 2-3 shift.

Its not that I dont understand it, its that you dont understand me understanding it. I used to do it all the time in a RAV4, even though it is not a fast car it can still be "WOT" shifted.

For beginners I would reccomend your start your power shift at least 500 rpms before your determied redline. This car really wraps up fast so you've got to be quick on the shifting or else your gonna tag that rev limiter, doh!

After I read this post I whent out and gave it a try. Wow your not kidding about keeping you pinned to your seat. Almost to hard of a gear change for my likes but it really gets the old blood running. Not to mention the speed gets up there alot faster. The only thing im having a hard time with is not hitting the limiter. This thing revs fast. Iv tryed it at 5500 and still hit it lol maybe im just slow.

That's because it is. I wouldn't make a habit out of doing it very often at all.

It will most certainly help kill your clucth musch faster, and may even result in shortening the length of your engine life or even a blown engine or supercharger.

I look at your signature and I don't wonder why you are on your 3rd clutch bro. Looks like you are making a lot of power.
