At the wheels, some are better some are worse. The SS supercharged was severely underated. They claim max horse at like 5600 rpms, but look at a supercharged dyno. They dont really bell shape, they keep climbing.

Cobalt is more money to have it as fast as an srt. But, you get better looks, much better handeling, better brakes, ect. Truly for any real power your going to need to invest a couple grand in either like big turbo on the srt or a turbo swap on the cobalt. A lot more people have modded srt's so its easier to get info on stuff like that. I still say cobalt all day though.

No, to small of a pulley for that tune and those injectors and def nowhere near 296whp. the motor is probably ready to pop.

internals are decent. w/ a turbo swap some people are over 400 on stock internals. With the stock m62 you wont be getting anywhere near that w/o a complete engine build. Some may complain about the clutch, its not very consumer friendly. Some problems people have w/ this engine is its non-return fuel line and the crazy amounts of wheel hop.

Thanks, so I see some guys pushing 19#s on the stock Eaton, is there any type of porting that can be done to the stock blower? 17+ #'s has got to be creating a lot of heat in that motor I would think in no time at all you would be heat soaked and pull timing like crazy. Any aftermarket twin screw superchargers for the motor?

No...they drive a hopped up neon / sx. They are a neon with performance parts on them. THe cobalt SS/SC is NOT a cavi - it is NOT a J-body - it is a Delta Platform. They share basically NO parts between the two. and NO the cobalt did NOT replace the cavi. The Aveo slots below the cavi and took the place of the entry level vehicle. The Cobalt was released a slot above the cavi. GM released the Cobalt and Aveo during the last year of the cavi as a deliberate move, to make the point that the Cavi AND the entry level slot it occupied are discontinued.

The cobalt shares nothing from the previous gen cavalier. Not even the bolts. I drove a cavalier for 5 weeks in Texas as a rental, that car sucked hard.

The SRT-4 is definitely built on a shared Neon platform. Does it have more headroom for power then the SS/SC, yes? But if you want to go crazy modding get a terminator cobra or an ls1 car.

98% of the people out there aren't going to spend more then 5 grand in mods, no matter what they drive.
