complete loss of battery power

ok so i was in the parking garage of school, i go out to my car, and it won't start; it doesn't even turn over. I pop the hood, nothing has been tampered with. I try to pop my trunk and it doesn't pop, which tells me i have no power whatsoever. i check the lights; everything was turned off. Then i try again and it starts. I drive a few feet, then power cuts out for about 2 seconds, and the engine stays running. Then I drive home and restart it without incident. Also, a couple days ago, when i started my car, i noticed that my radio had been set back to default, meaning somehow it lost power....WTF is going on?

you have a ss/sc right?

The stock sub/amp in the trunk? Will that amp is always running.. even know it doesnt seem like it.. but if you ever notied a little noise when the car is off.. its the little amp thats powering the sub..... i went away on vaction and i got back and it wouldnt start and thats what the gm tech told me... so if i dont use the car for a couple days .. i just unplug the speaker ... and it hasnt happened since..

the car was only left for like 2 hrs, so i don't think the factory amp/sub would have had time to drain the battery. the next time it happens i will be going to the dealer.

Happens to me ever now and then. I turn my headlights on manually and forget to turn them off. Free roadside assist! Gives me time to have a smoke.

Close...but not a "short." A short is when a wire comes in contact with another wire that it's not supposed to. I think you mean "open."

This guy's battery is OK (i.e. still starts ), so he doesn't have a current drain issue either! Plain and simple; flakey ground or power connection. Probably the ground.

Oops! ment to respond to SilverStreak...
