Coolant leak - manifold?
Hey guys/gals,
Over the course of the past few weekends I've installed a 2.8 pulley, and completed the dual pass with the option b tank + ZZP custom PCM tune. Everything ran great (after I did the h/e pressure cap mod). This weekend I cleaned the car up and wanted to wash down the engine, so I sprayed some degreaser and hosed her off. Not too much water preasure either. So I finished detailing her, and went to bed. The next morning I come out and find that I have a rather small coolant leak under my car.
I decided to pull her into the garage and jack her up to take a peak. The car was parked in my driveway going slightly uphill. What I first noticed was that I had a small leak running on the pan behind the pump (forgive me, can't remember off the top of my head what pan this is -- tranny maybe? whatever). I also noticed a little on one of the hoses coming from the pump (one pointing to drivers seat -- out i think? whatever). So I tightened up the hoses as the clamps were loose thinking (praying) that would fix it. Nope......this morning I came out to go to work and I had another small puddle. I don't see anything from the engine bay, and I don't see a whole lot under the car either besides the drop running on the pan. I'm starting to think it's a leak from the intake manifold that is running behind the IC pump bracket, but can't tell for sure thanks to the compact design of **** they have under there. Anyone have any ideas? I'm lazy, and don't really want to have to take off the SC and alternator to get the mani off again.
Another small note in case it matters -- after doing the pressure cap mod on the h/e for the option b to get the water circulating, water flowed freely from the h/e into the option b tank. I noticed today that nothing was flowing. Maybe fluid shouldn't be pouring the entire time the car is running, or maybe this is a hint as to what is causing my problems? I'm going to post in that particular mod thread to see if the OP knows what's up.

Bump -- anyone? I got a quote for 40-50 to run a coolant pressure test...trying to avoid that if possible. I don't think there is really any other true way of checking unless I take everything apart again.
Dunno what to tell ya. The first time I ran my hoses to the CX H/E over the course of months the one line rubbed through on my serpentine belt because I didn't have it secured well enough. Besides that just go through and check all your conections and hose clamps. Did you reuse the factory clamps? If so you might want to put another hose clamp on because I had issuse with those leaking as well.
yeah is sounds like its a loose hose most likely on the dual pass endplate. I would suggest removing the supercharger and replacing all the shitty GM hose clamps with some nice screw down after market ones. If that doesnt fix it my next bet would be that the gasket used on the endplate wasnt setted properly. THat green rubber gasket is what keeps the coolant inside the endplate, the rubber gaskets on the end of the laminova cores are another level, but ive learned that when removing them, if you crush them even by the smallest amount they can leak.
After looking for a couple days, I found the culprit. I had a pin size hole in one of the hoses going to the "t" fitting off the endplate. The smallest little focker too. Replaced hose, and all is well again!
