My Corsa Touring has sounded a little funny the past few days, and the exhaust has been sqeeking. I got under the car today and found the the entire weld on the resonator towards the 2 bolt flange side has cracked and separated! Huge exhaust leak would definitely explain why the car sounds like ****! Just figured I'd give you guys a heads up!

 

someone sold mine to me like that without telling me but i just went to car x and they welded it for 10 bucks.... its messed up that weld would break so easy.

 

Is there no flex joint anywhere? That would explain it breaking.

 

wow, that sucks... all these expensive "good" exhausts seem to have lots of problems... everyone always bashes pacestter, but that's the only exhaust i haven't read about problems with on this site...

 

Ouch. There was another person that had the same problem. Perhaps it is something that Corsa needs to address.

yeah, i was the one that posted about it last week, i cut off the resonator and put in a glass pack and the car sounds amazing, for a 4-banger lol, but its nice and quiet but when you get on it you can still hears it real good!

mine broke on the backside of the resonator

 

mine is rattling a bit but def not cracking.. and it has 40k miles on it. The rattle is just this thingy loose under there.. im gonna beat it out this week sometime

 

sucks... i was gonna order that exhaust next month

 

call up corsa. they will handle it.

 

For about $100 to replace the resonator. I am not original owner so there is no warranty. O well. I'll try the welding option.

wow, corsa needs to go back to the drawing board on this one it seems.

funny seeing this as my reweld job just broke in the same place recently. I just bought a new resonsator to weld in this week, so hopefully I can sound somewhat decent again.

for you guys with the corsa, is the section of pipe in between the downpipe and resonator a 2.25" or 2.5" pipe?

from the pics i seen it looks a smidgen smaller than the rest of the piping

 

yeah mine just broke a couple days ago. the weld at the front of the resonator cracked, AND some of the internal welds for the RSC in the resonator broke. i welded up the leak at the weld but now when i go over bumps the internals of the resonator squeak. its really a turn off

just to clarify. you bought just the resonator from corsa for $100?
