Question crankcase vent to exhaust benefits?

what is the benefit of routing the crankcase vent to the exhaust rather then the intake? besides that you wont have to clean your tb anymore.

Should net you about 5-8hp depending on how many bends the piping to the exhaust has to take, it reduces restriction.

There's more cons than pros to doing something like that; it's a crankcase vent, air was intended to flow both ways to equalise the crankcase. You would be better off with an air/oil seperator (aka a catch tank), because you'll just be ingesting exhaust back into your crankcase.

I believe I am correct in saying this. The exhaust is pressurized so connecting the crankcase vent to it will cause hot exhaust gases to flow into the vent and back into the crankcase/head. The main purpose of the vent is to release the pressure which is caused by blow-by.

edit: I have not heard of anyone doing this before.

you are correct and incorrect but with the correct parts it is impossable to shove exhaust back into your engine also keeping a zero pressure on the crank case of the engine will free up some power but if you decide to go that route make sure u block the pcv passage in the head

We have them on our drag car. It uses a angled fitting with a one way valve on it. The exhaust actually sucks the the blow by out of the valve cover producing a few extra horses. V8s have one in each valve cover. The big money racers use belt driven vacuum pumps to suck it out.
