cti 3 inch catted dp vs. lsj catless dp

Hey guys I am gettin ready to sell my old exhaust and tha guy is willing to trade me his cti 3 inch high flow cat dp for it. I have a question though which one would be better. I have heard some people have problems with the cti. Here are my mods K&N cai, GM stage 2 with custom tune,cx racing h/e,pacesetter header, and dual sock cat backs. I wanna run catless but I was thinking of just keepin the stock dp and gutting it so i stay at a 2.5 exhaust since with my mods I dnt need a massice 3 inch dp. Which dp should i do guys? gutted lsj dp or cti 3 inch high flow cat dp?

just for your info the stock lsj downpipe is 2.75" not 2.5". the lsj exhaust is all diff sizes .... the downpipe is 2.75" for the most part then it necks to 2.50" right before the catback. the cat back is 2.50" all the way to the rear axle then it necks down to 2.25" over the axle to the muffler. the tailpipe opens up again to 2.50" and the exhaust tip is 4".

Unless your pacesetter has a custom flange it will not fit as the pacesetter is ball and socket vs the flanged cti. If he is offering you a trade thats a soild deal the stock downpipe necks down to 2" before it goes to the cat.

well he is offering me s strait up trade but would it be worth it or just have him buy my muffler and than gut my stock dp and have the extra money he is sending me? Either way whether its my stock dp or the cti i have to cut it and put a custom flange on it. the pacesetter is a mid length so the stock dp length wont work and thats wat the cti is is stock length and plus the pacesetter is 2 bplt both my dp and the cti are 3 bolt

dude i said i would straight up trade the downpipe for your muffler .... i dont want a whole exhaust. i just said ill take care of shipping costs as well with the trade. i think its a pretty fair deal. i paid $210 for the downpipe plus $15 additional dollars for the angled cel elminator. all i want is the touring muffler you were selling for $150. if you are going for more power in the future the cti downpipe is the way to go. i just plan on sticking with the GM stage tune and power levels i have so my stock downpipe is ok for me. let me know man.

well like i said the stock downpipe is 2.75" its not that big of a change .... you have a header though so your car will benifit from it much more than mine did with the gmpp manifold. i lost some low - mid range with it but gained fair amount of top end with it which. your custom gm tune is prob as good if not better than my 07 gm tune.

lol I know marquis. Only reason I am looking at staying with a 2.5 exhaust is because there aint a reason for me to have a 3 inch. I mean I'm only gonna run 42# injectors not 60's and prolly only a 3.0 pulley. Wat do u think of the cti dp man?

anyone elses opinion?

its all good..oh ok..well i will put it like this...gutting the dp and making it catless will give u power gains and sound..dont know how it sounds tho...getting the 3" high flow cat will give u power also but the bigger size will knock ur power up in the rpm band and the sound will probably be better i think than the stock dp but not sure...

so in other words with the cti ill gain power in the higher end like from a roll but i might lose some low end tourqe such as from a dig?
