loosing some low end is good .... you will be able to launch better with out breaking the tires loose as much .... you will still get good low end just not as much as with the stock downpipe.
he will not be 2.50" all the way back even if he were to get a 2.50" cat-back, because the stock downpipe is 2.75". Gutting the cat maybe gains you 3-4hp but the sound is raspy and buzzy. a catted car sounds much better imo.

half way ?? try more than that, it only necks down to 2.50" for about 2" right before the catback connection flange. look in my images and you will see what the cti downpipe looks like next to the stock lsj downpipe.
nice pix..but ur counting the cat lol..but w/e its coo..rusty it will be ur decision..

damnit ur right i just looked it up.lol. time to go to bed.lol oh and yea i did.lol. a whole 12 pack of corona to myself
You would want to modify that header instead of the downpipe, easier route in my opinion. Whn that stock downpipe is off your car measure where it goes to the cat i gaurntee its 2.0".

the stock lsj downpipe is 2.0" right at the connection flange you are correct, but thats not to restrict .... its to maintain exhaust gas velocity, because the stock and gmpp manifolds exit port is only a tad larger than 1.75". A small exit port directly dumping into a huge 3" (cti downpipe size) or 2.75" (lsj downpipe size after flex coupler would slow down the exhaust flow and hinder performance a bit.

k well i am getting the cti lsj and i am gonna have to modify it anyways since my header is a 2 bolt flange and also is a mid length header so that cti dp will be too long. how do u mean modify the header. please explain
cut the flange off and get a new one welded OR get it welded to the DP
