Damn... CEL w/ my CAI
Damn... CEL w/ my CAI
Last night while driving home in the rain my newly installed Injen CAI kicked the CEL on.
I was pissed, after about 160 miles of driving I thought I would be one of the lucky ones.
My question, could the rain have anything to do with the CEL. I didn't hit ANY puddles (it wasn't like a down-pour, just a rain) Or is this just the LEAN code?
The car Runs Fine, no hesitation or anything so...
Lastly and most importantly...
Have we confirmed whether or not Stage 1 Flash will help this?
Thanks,
Rich

you can reset the computer, by disconnecting the battery for a while, like 10 15, then reconnect it. and see if it comes back on. you could also just go buy a 19.99 code reader and clear it yourself. and let us know what code it is or look it up and see what the problem may be.
i had many CEL problems with my cobalt almost thought about trading it back in.... first is was lean gas, then it was MAF, then it was the snorkle then after all of that it was fine just a week ago my c/c went on me now everything seems to be ok but we'll see o yea also forgot to tell you my window broke which they fixed and the templates where the armrests are were chipping... hope no more troubles

It's way too early to tell if the relash will fix the CEL, sometimes it didn't show up for weeks.
the cel will go off for a bit but the code stays...the light will come back when a retest is made by the comp or bad signals are found through sensors....bring it in to the dealer....not tryin to be an ass but rule number 1 dont buy the first year a car comes out...seems everyone is 05...not sayin 06 dont have any but the little bugs could be worked out, happened to my friend with the SRT-4, his was an 03 and had probs and my girl has an 05 and knock on wood nothin yet....Good luck fixing the stuff all i can say is dealer, dont mess with it if u dont kno wat ur doin....
not that I did scientific testing, but the cel seems to appear when it is cold and damp out, has anyone noticed that southern cars dont seem to have it as much as northerns and more in winter than summer last year...when it warmed up here the cel went off then it got cold again and damp and came back on, I think the cold damp DENSER air is effecting it a LOT!
the ECU will get use to the new airflow but it will kick a CEL, don't our ECU's have the able to learn? thats what i thought my friend has had the code for about 2 weeks it the MAF thats what his mech. said that the computer will get use to the new airflow casue the computer will learn.
