What would make the rotors all scratched up like that?

He wrote this.

"The unit has some scratches on the rotors but I was told it was making good boost when removed 15+ PSI. It spins smooth and I am sure there are many miles left in this unit".

 

I asked a few questions on the scratches, and was told that they are cosmetic but scratches non the less. There are no chips on the blades, so that is good, and finally it still put out 15+psi with the 2.75" pulley that on it. Not sure what kind of vehicle it was on. Good luck to whomever has a little more money right now than I do.
