You need a magnaflow resonator, cheapest and biggest one they make that fit. I used a 6" round body with mine 3" ID, and 24 inches long. I'm running a ZZP header + downpipe, with a Dezod 2 3/4" exhaust with not rasp.

 

GMPP honed manifold,stock dp and resinator,2.5" mandrell over axel, magnaflow 2.5" offset in/center out, stock tip. It has a nice sound and flows great. Probly not as efficient as a performance catback and catless/tubed header d/p combo but the car has been like this since early 06 and have had no problems and at the power levels we run it is fine. I get plenty of compliments from the sound and it growls under boost and is quiet enough at low revs and cruising.

 

This was the route I planned on going. I have a downpipe/header/high flow cat waiting to be intalled, and then I will replace the bend over the axle, and I was going to go with a borla muffler, but may switch to magnaflow after hearing it, its half the cost. At that point if I dont like the way it sounds, or its to raspy, I will go with an aftermarket resonator, but I dont think its really needed. Nor do I see the point in people putting 3" exhaust on the car, for most of us, probably 90 percent of us, the 2.5 system has more than enough flow IMO. Definetly plan on using stock tip also, its just the right size. Although I have been toying with putting an outlet on the other side of the car, saw one and loved the way it looked. I would have to get a single 2.5 in dual 2.5 out muffler though.

dont really know, I know he had a magnaflow 2.5 in, dual 2.25 out and some custom pipes. Obviouly its not a kit that anyone makes.
