Which do you prefer as an upgrade?

Eaton M90 Blower, the Whipple Blower, A twincharger Kit using an SC61, or just making the best of the stock Supercharger.

I'm asking because I want to have a kit fabbed soon. I want to do R&D on the most desired kit or power adder. There's a good chance that if it works great, whatever the kit may be, it should be available to the public within months after completion. I'll post all the numbers, and give a VERY detailed spec sheet of the products, company, the projected goal, longevity of the kit, reliability, performance gains, and what the kit consists of and how much it costs. So just tell me w/ a quick answer between the four so I may review them and decide accordingly. Thanks,

Adam

Whipple All the way, best gains IMO. They make a twin screw too, that would be awesome! OR how about replacing the Roots STyle blower with a centrifuge(SP) style?

and loose our low end torque i bet 90 % of the cobalt owners would never go for it if all i wanted was peak hp i woulda got a honda

also it all depends on the hp to dollar ratio if a m90 kit costs 1500 and a whipple kit is 2k and only 5 hp seperates the 2 then ill save the 500 bucks and go with the eaton

The Centrifuge, it still works off/from a pulley doesnt it? Meaning istant boost, I thought that was how they worked but I'm think I wrong, correct if I am. And I think a little low end is lost but still will kick in way before a turbo, would that be such a bad thing? We would be able to launch with minimal wheel hop and burning out, and still hit the boost by 2nd gear.

I'm going to say twin charged, but we won't know which is better until they start putting this stuff out.

Whipple. I had to scratch my project because the whipple 100ax isn't out yet, and whipple doesn't know when it will be done. Whipple will be the most desired on this board. I just looked at a Cobra online the other day that had a whipple. He made ~650rwhp/~635rwtq with like 20 psi! It made me sick.....

I'm not expecting anything more than 300whp with a Whipple @ 12psi on a stock motor. Now, with bolt-ons using 3inch exhaust, huge 2in primary runners on header w/ 3in collector, and a credible CAI should net gains upward of 350whp. Now, this blower obviously can run up to 30psi, so the maximum power output should be around 500hp or so. If I were to use a whipple, it would be the 140AX. Rated for 2.2L motors, perfect for a high output 2.0L. Anyways, I won't push more than 350whp on stock internals and I won't be forging the internals with better parts til years to come. No reason to ruin such a new motor. When the pistons can't handle it anymore and give in..that's when I'll put Wiseco's and Crowers in the block and boost to 25psi. Anyways, it seems like you guys favor the Whipple over everything else, but I'm almost positive the SC61 turbo can make that same power level at less than 10psi boost, especially with the help of the Eaton. Just my .2 cents. Keep in mind a few things. The complexity of the kit, the price, and of course...the reliability when choosing which one YOU want to be R&D'ed.
