Does a scantool detect a disabled rear oxygen sensor?

I'm putting on a catless downpipe, and I'm going to disable my rear sensor with HPtuners. I'm wondering if they'll detect it when I go to the emissions test and they scan my car. Anyone know?

Damn, that was a fast reply! So what do all the people running catless do about emissions testing? Put the cat back on? Do the spark plug anti foulers actually work?

They don't work on the cobalt. Not enough room for them to fit without cutting part of the car up.

if they are turned off the code wont set. basicly when you go through the emmissions test they look at whats called global generic OBDII, wich shows them any emmissions related codes, system moniters and will show a code if there is a code in a system (such as p0700- fault in trans controller). all they are going to look at is to see that any moniters that are supposed to be set are and that you have no codes.

I tried, they physically will not fit in the exhaust channel with the o2 sensor.

Would a right angle fitting help out with the lack of space?

I agree. (fellow MA licensed inspector here) the emissions plug in will detect a possible fault code (if there is any in history) but as long and the check engine light is not illuminated, there shouldn't be an issue. I have had cars that fail in one or two of the categories that are scanned for inspection but since they did not have a check engine light on, they passed with flying colors.

When i get my catless DP, I'll get the rear O2 disabled and plug my car into the inspection machine at work. I will give you guys a definitive answer when i get the parts and tuning.
