downshift into 3rd = stalling!!!???

OK, this is the second time this has happened, i was out driving around, well,,, romping on the car, cruising at 70, i downshift into 3rd and punch it to the floor, it instantally cuts out and stalls, still coasting at a good speed, i pop the clutch and coast start it, it starts, but when i give it gas, it stalls, so, i coasted (not far from the exit ramp), i try to jump start again, my tack at this time is dead, reading 0 RPM, even when it is sputtering, it will run for a few feet then stall, then i did give it gas, and i heard JUST the supercharger, no exhaust sound, and it stalled,,,,,, so i coasted to a stop at a gas station,,

i crank it over, the engine jerks vioently and stalls without starting, but it did try to roll over, this happned proally 5 or 6 times in a row (the jerky no start), so i finally get it started, and it runs FINE!!! no problems! but i now have a check engine light,

i just got it dynod and it pulled 10 hp different in 4th and 3rd gear, (not right) and it showed taht i was running rich, not lean at them RPMS the temp. today was similar to dyno day

i have proper oil levels, and everything else seems to be fine, no leaks,,, AND i do have gas in it, i really really dont understand it , y would it do this twice to me at random intervals, then start up without any problems after struggling to get it started???

this is the 05 sssc with the following mods taht are in my sig. i dont have a tune yet, just the factory stage 2 PLEASE HELP!!

Its because you have a stage 2 tune with a 2.8 pulley...

You probably made the injectors go static and flooded the engine.

Well not probably, thats exactly what happened...

This is why we tell people not to use a 2.8 pulley on a stage 2 tune...

ok, it would make sense, but how is jimzss running a 2.7 pulley at times with his STOCK tune and STOCK injectors? as far as i know he hasn had any problems with his car... BUT AGAIN I COULD BE WRONG

so, stay out of the throttle till i get a better tune?

thanks for all the responses

What the posters stated above is probably not the issue. When injectors go static, they don't flood the engine, they actually do quite the opposite. They have no idea what they are talking about.

First thing to do is get the DTC scanned and find out why your check engine light is on then go from there. I'm going to take a stab and say it might be a CKP (crankshaft position sensor) issue.

From what i heard.. static = keeping injectors open meaning flooded engine...

Maybe i used wrong terminology, but a buddies of mine cobalt had something up with the injectors and they stayed open causing the engine to flood...

Some people are very lucky, but theres no way hes running stock injectors with a 2.7, just wouldnt work...

try to stay out of boost, that means if you take it easy, you can still reach higher speed without even going above 7 psi.

So do you have a 2.8 pulley on 42# injectors?

looks like he does, but he is tuned for it. S2 tune with a 2.8 is the problem.

Not sure why you guys are so hung up on this GM stage 2 thing but cars run just fine in that setup. I'm curious as to why some of you think this is a problem or why it would cause the OP's stalling issue at speed.

The only way you are going to flood a fuel injected engine is with 4 leaking injectors while cranking.

When an injector is static, that means its being commanded to stay open to compensate for high airmass in order to provide an air-fuel ratio desired by the PCM.

The two are not related.
