Why not run both, you can't get the charge air too cold.
Thats what i was getting ready to ask.... What about dual-pass option B and meth?

Try every couple weeks. And thats only if I run the **** out of it.

Its also very very very cheap to buy. At most its like 2.00 a gallon.

This is one of the things I'm working towards.

My reason behind it is that I saw a HPTuned GM s2 balt with meth trap just a few thousandths faster in the 1/4 than an Intense s3 sc hub and smaller pulley (I forget the size right now) with Cobra H/E, HPtune, poly trans mounts and several other mods. The 1/4 mile passes I'm talking about occurred on the same day at the same track. Both guys are friends of mine. The guy that did the tuning for the GM s2 balt owned, raced, built, and tuned the s3 balt. To see what a diff the meth made when compared to another GM s2 balt with tune and 2.8 on the same track at the same day also surprised me. Meth is def a good idea.

Refilling the methanol every couple days... what the hell are you talking about!

I can go almost a month on my bottle (and I kick it on at 4psi)....

I run meth and an H/E! Best money spent yet!

I have option "B", I am turbo now so my IAT2 is max 110*. On the SC with a 2.6" it was 160* and with the dual pass and meth it was 140*.

trust me, the dual pass is a waste of money and time. sure you may not have to buy more coolant as opposed to methanol, but methanol isnt holding heat like coolant is. it doesnt get recirculated and barely cooled off before its pumped back into a hot intake.

i saw 20 degree iat2 temp drops by just bolting my meth kit on. you'll be lucky to see a 10 degree drop with a dual pass and option b set up.

plus, pulling your intake manifold off sucks.

option b is good for keeping away heat saturation if you were to do many consecutive runs i think option B would prove to be much better. Here is a link to data from different amounts of water in an air to water charge cooled system and different pumps.

air-water systems and you

I don't drive like most, that **** wouldn't last too long with me.

I wasn't concerned with the cost so much, just the inconvience of having to stop and refill it at all. I have nitrous if I want to do that, but it adds 50+ HP to my car, and cools better than anything else.

well heres what i can see from option b

your paying 100 bucks for a surge tank added into the system

that surge tank is basically pointless because you will probably see little drop in the temps because of the "extra" coolant in the system

if someone can prove to me how im wrong then go ahead but looking at why some people say option b is better than option a is basically "well duh if option b isnt better they wouldnt have made it" which to me sounds retarded

so i am going to have to say to save your money and dont get option b

thanks

i made this post, the link will show you a graph which shows that extra coolant in a system helps keep temps down a lot and keeps away heat soak.

Extra coolant gives your system flexibility and extra room for more passes, you'll probably be on the gas a certain amount, but if you already have all this cool coolant at hand then your pump doesn't exactly have to work as hard to keep the temps down.

Ahh eff it. Option B sounds worth it ot me. After all, on a dyno tryin to get tuned makin a bunch of quick pulls, option B would come in handy! I think I'll get the option B today!

Not to mention the system is self-bleeding, which is nice...
