deffinitely will be keeping the meth. I think im going to end up swapping after thinking about it.

The car goes to work and back. 10 miles a day. Weekends off from work - which is wed and thursdays - i usually stay home and relax. Case and point, car didnt leave today, and wont be leaving tomorrow. Last weekend car didnt move either except for my other job which during the winter is every other thursday back at my parents neighbors. about a 30 minute drive. No problems really as long as theres fuel in the tank before I leave which I can make sure of the night before. Other than that we NEVER EVER in the 5 years ive owned the car go on any sort of long distances with her. we ALWAYS take the girlfriends car. Or if im hanging out with the guys we take one of their vehicles. Summer time I ride the bike EVERYWHERE. I dont care where that thing goes as its great on gas and I love riding. That being said - car will be at home in the garage even more. Winter time when it snows or has potential to snow - we take the girlfriends car to work again until its all melted. - car continues to stay home. ONLY time the car makes a haul is the 3.5 hour treck up to Epping for New England Dragway. I have to look into it but I believe theres E up there. If not, we always go in a caravan and one of my friends always brings his Avalanche, I could fill a couple 5 gallon jugs and tie them into the back of his truck if need be. Problem solved there.

All in all with how little I drive the car I think it is a good move to switch to E.

So ALL i need to convert is 80s and a tune? nothing else? If thats the case I will convert next month.

im not too worried about the price, more of making the convert - keeping the motor happy - and the ability to keep it fueled up worry free

Theres no E-85 in the area unfortunately so bringing some cans would be the best bet

If you are going to keep your methanol kit you probably don't need to get 80s to run that 2.7" pulley. You should be able to make up the fueling difference with Methanol. AND depending where you live, you might be on the winter blend of E85 which is actually E70. Your fuel system should be able to handle E70 and a 2.7" pulley all by itself.

its race fuel on the side in the little hut when you enter the track. not sure the octane. I know you can get leaded race fuel at a haffners in Nashua.

Btw heres a good reference guide for anyone who is unsure. I Guess you have to register to car it with the EPA since it requires a different style in ground tank

AFDC Ethanol: E85 Fueling Station Locations

E85 & Flex Fuel Station Finder | Ethanol Retailers

I think the AFDC one is more up to date since it shows that Maine has some now

Fred of the infamous twin charge debacle? E is completely worth is, A good tuner will net you an easy 5% increase in power more likely a 10% increase. AND and increase or at least no decrease in gas mileage (but only a good tuner, and likely only if tuned on a load varying dyno).

theres more to the twincharge story than your reading, its not my spot to talk about it tho, he did recognize the 5-10% increase, but we both came to agreement do the other things i had planned first, then do that last

ok kev.. sorry.. freds full of ****.. you can gain an easy 30 whp just by switching injectors, filling up with e and getting a retune.. if thats not worth it IDK what is .. really you're paying (depending on how much you get the tune for) like 300 bux, **** people spend like 1k to do full bolt ons and barely see that much sometimes.. or people pay 600-700 for the gm stage kits .. e85 is definitely worth it .. take it from someone who's made the swap

Why do I keep seeing people talk about 87 like they are putting it in their cars? I'm pretty sure our(well at least the FI cars) are premium only or 91+ octane. Cheapest 91+(most have 93 around here) I see is $3.28 but it looks like going rate is 3.39 right now.

I cant see many benifits for you doing e85 yet exp since your running meth.....the big gain would be if you converted to turbo more boost more power at a leaner a/f etc. its not like your gonna drop 3 more pulley sizes on your blower. now if you were on the tvs or turbo.... I can see a huge benefit. as you can run more boost on either setup.

its does run cleaner and e85 does have a hard time on cold starts just some food for thought
