stuck!

Anyone have pictures of this oblong hole that could be plugged. I am not about to just rip mine off to check everything out, but I would definitely be interested in having a professional do something with it :)

This helps me out alot...ive heard i can run a 3 inch and not harm anything by just running colder plugs? Is this true. Im new to the SS/SC, so any info will help.

207GT04 02-13-2008 11:57 PM

thanks. I have taken the s/c off to put the 2.9 on but I didn't pay much attention the underneath of it. I was a little more focused at the task at hand

Research is your friend.

You don't NEED colder plugs... they are however, recommended.

ok so this is what i did i still make 15psi of boost and its load and IATS are cooler but it take a few sec. longer to get to full boost... dont flame me to bad

BlueSS-supercharged 02-14-2008 12:07 AM

wow uhhh im not sure about that ^^^ i want to bump this up and see what other people have to say

yellowshowbalt 02-14-2008 12:10 AM

i know this is how ive had it on my 2.2 since day one....with the gm stage 2 .

Edubs 02-14-2008 08:26 AM

If that's how you've had it on since day one, how do you know your IAT2's are cooler?

lsjwannabe 02-14-2008 11:42 AM

wow, you ever heard of the saying less is more.

Holy to much removal Batman!

TVS_SS 02-14-2008 02:58 PM

His outlet temps are cooler because he's not making near as much boost..

and that things gotta leak something fierce! lol.

Mother of God...............

yellowshowbalt 02-14-2008 05:50 PM

why do you say it has to leak somthing fierce.... yes i did loose like 2 1/2 pounds of boost becouse of this and it takes a little longer for me to make full boost.. but i was still riping stage 2 ss out of the hole and from a 40mph roll

That 2.5lbs of boost is leakage backward through your supercharger.. and thats also why it takes you longer to make full boost....

its also making it less efficient.. you could possibly make as much power from your engine.. but you have to spin it harder and it uses more energy for the same boost level.

Apart from welding the rotors together, this is probably the single most aggresive form of destroying a supercharger.

Please do not duplicate.

Ouch! R.I.P. to the supercharger!

yellowshowbalt 02-14-2008 11:25 PM

i never ported the scer and its ok .. btw i would like to do a swop with someone for some dyno runs...
meaning if theres a ss out the thats will in to do a base run with there charger then we will put on mine with the same pullys of corse and then run mine just to see the difference.. in boost and iat temps and so forth becouse i know that wasent the right way to do it but the sc that i have was broke in the corner where the triangle is and the little side port was so since it was broke i just cut the rest of it off so i could still use it.. i got the sc for 75.00 becouse it was broke the guy said he droped it and it hit something when it fell ... and he got a new one and i bought that one

Sharkey 02-15-2008 12:07 AM

if it were me plugging the silencer holes, id make some plugs up that fit as tight as possible in those holes, press them in and then put the case in the oven at around 200 degrees for a while, then pull it out and only tack weld the ends of the plugs. the even heat and minimal welding should keep from distorting the case
