The Ebay Intake...

I've been without a computer for a while so that is why this thread is so late. I heard about this intake a few weeks ago and posted in a thread on it. Got into conversation with NGA and got a deal one of these bad boys.

I'm going to say that some will like this intake and some will hate it (as we have already seen in the other thread). It has its drawbacks but for the most part it does the job.
At first glance you see an immediate resemblence to the Injen intake. The piping is probably the same quality as well. All of the welds look great on it and everything is in the right location. The only thing that is not up to par with the Injen is the filter. It has some Brand X no name filter that looks cool but you don't really know anything about it.
Installation went fine for the most part. Everything came out of the car OK, and going back in the fitment was surprisingly good.

Now on to the tough part. The two screws that came with the intake to hold on the MAF sensor were too long. Those had to be ground down to fit. (After doing so i realized that the simple solution would have been a couple washers. ) The anti vibration device was the other "problem". They included a rubber stopper that had bolt sticking out of it. This intake didn't come with instructions so i didn't know what to do with it as it came. The only thing i saw it could be used for was for where the stock one mounted to. But for that to work i had to remove the bolt and washers that were in the stopper provided and cut it just about in half. I also had to drill a hole down the center. After doing so everything went like gravy.

Now, i tend to do things the hard way without even knowing it so after all the grinding, cutting, and drilling there could have been an easier way. All in all i am liking the intake. The supercharger whine is incredible and i feel a slight increase in low-end torque.
I have however thrown a code which i have not yet identified. But it has come and gone in the past few days. I think my MAF just might need a cleaning.

Now some pics for your enjoyment:

Oh yeah... through Kenny at C/A but I might be picking up a laptop soon to do some on the side... I usually charge @$125 for a full flash or $30 for certain CEL fixes.
Brian I totally forgot about that too... lol...

Intake looks awesome! The only difference between a $250 intake, is the filter. If I was in the market for an Intake this one would be my first choice. I would just buy an Injen filter for it!

There are quite a few for sale on ebay, any of them you recommend? And what K&N filter are you talking about?

Great info on this finally. Looks identical to the Injen intake except for the filter. It also looks like it doesn't rub against the bumper cover either. Does the hood rub the top of the pipe? Thanks for the review and info!

No rubbing really. Just a tight fit where the intake goes from the engine bay to the fenderwell.

That's fine there is no rubbing in this case, but I still like a tight fit!
