Whats the status on the CEL that this thing threw? Is it still there, did you disconnect the battery while you did the install? Have you tried disconnecting the battery to see if that makes the CEL go away?

You have to change your maf fail freq with hp tuners to make it not come back up again. you can disconnect your battery to clear it, but it will come back next time you rev out a WOT.

The CEL comes and goes. I'm thinking about just getting a tune. I've wanted one for a while anyway.

yea i was skeptic at first when you said you were getting this intake but after seeing it, it's a better buy then the injen.. as far as price and from what i've seen it's the same as an injen and i cant see what the difference can be

I might pick this one up if we can figure out how to kill off that CEL, because I'd like to avoid a full tune for a while, I'm not going that far until I get all the bolt ons done

The cel is because of the cheapo filter it comes with.

i mean really....how is the pipe going to cause a cel?

put a quality filter on it and your golden.

I just installed the ebay 1 yesterday.I think it looks great even though I scratched the sie a little no big deal but for the price its a nice product.I drove it real hard alot today and raced my friends stock 2006 ss s/c I have the stage 2, so I cant say the system makes a big diff but I can say I love the sound of the s/c air going threw it .

Here is a link to check it out on EBAY ITS LIKE 80$US

Whats the piping size on this thing? I'm trying to price out an AEM dryflow for it, but I'm not sure what size it would need. 2.75"?

I believe its 3inch piping

I have the 3.25 inlet filter on my car right now and i have no doubt it will fit fine.
they come with a hoseclamp and the inlet is a pliable tapered rubber.

I dont know which size to get though. My guess is 5" long, and either 2.75" or 3.0"
Someone confirm?

I would probably go with 3.25 or 3. (3.25 inlet X 5 inch length fits the original ss/sc airbox)

they come with a hoseclamp.....

your better off having slightly to big than slightly to small.

cuz the hoseclamp is there to tighten it up. if its to small your gonna have to try and stretch it....which wont work.

Are you going to try out that combination an0malous? Keep us posted on if the filter is indeed the week link in this set up, because if there arent any CELs to be found with the ebay pipe and an AEM 3.5" outlet/5" length, then I am in...

if not, I may have to be the guinea pig

I just looked up the filter for the injen intake, and if this pipe is an injen replica, then I think it might be a 2.75" opening. If you go to Injen's website, and search for the intake for the ss, then do another search on the filter for it (part number X-1013-BR) you get a return on a filter with this description:
High Performance Air Filter - 2.75'' Black Filter 6'' Base/ 5'' Tall/ 5'' Top

Is this a reliable source to speculate on filter size for the ebay intake from?

Best guess at this point is the filter. I would be willing to bet its the filter, because everything I've heard/read is that this is a pretty good copy of the injen intake, which doesn't have a high CEL rate.

thats good news. I think I'll still get the AEM filter and a hydroshield for it... even with the AEM, you're still $30 under the AEM "intake system"
