I recently bought a 05 cobalt ss/sc engine for my 07 cobalt ss sc, with a zzp stage 3 kit on the engine. I didnt get the pcm or ecm from the scrapyard i got the engine, is the ecm in my car compatible with the 05 engine? Also if i get the tuned pcm from the car at the scrap yard can i use it in the 07 car?

 

07 is its own year for the ecm, you cant swap it with an earlier ecm. the engine is the same 04-07. just run the ecm and wiring harness thats in the car, everything will work fine.

 

you can swap the 07 pcm into an 06 or 05 the gas guage wont work right

 

Is there anyway to fix that?

 

have gm flash the correct op system on the pcm
