ECU Resetting?

I put a injen intake and a corsa exhaust on my car and i was just wondering if i should pull the battery cables off and reset the ECU? Would this do or help anything??

when i installed my K&N typhoon my car acted a bit funky at first.
so i tried it just to see if it would help, and it did settle the car down.

some people will come in here screaming and ranting that its all BS.

but *shrug* like was said above. its not gonna hurt. and hell it might just help
