i have an 05 ss/sc with a few mods, only 11,000 miles on car. i dont drive the car hard at all, never even dumped the clutch, in the last few days i have noticed a knock when i am up at temp and sitting idle. sometimes its there, sometimes not. i'd like to figure it out before i have to take off all the mods and take it to the dealership. list of mods. borla exhaust, ingalls stiffy, AEM CIA. a few other mods, but have been taken off the car months ago.. any ideas???

 

You don't say what kind of knock -- light metallic or deep thud? Since it is not consistant it may be a lifter or could even be an exhaust leak. Hopefully when you take it to the dealership it will be making the noise because if it's not even they'll have trouble locating the problem.

if i were to guess it would be a lifter knock. i know if i take it to the dealer it wont knock. thats just murphys law..
