Engine Power reduced
Engine Power reduced
ok so i got this light about 2 weeks ago took it to the shop(bc its still under warranty) they said my K&N CAI was causing it to do that i pulled 3 throttle body codes and a MAP Sensor code. But they told me GM hotline told them to replace the BARO Sensor so i let them do it without sayin anything...Drove it for two days and now it comes on again!!!!!! ok so correct me if im wrong but i thought the only thing that threw throttle body codes was the TB itself i mean i wasnt giving it hell i did right after i got it but i was pullin out of the mall parking lot and then the light comes on and the RPMs shoot up to 3K and i look like a D-Bag tryin to be cool anyone else had this problem
K&N intake would give you a lean code due to too much air. if you have a TB code, infact 3 of em, and a map sensor code... unlikely.
did you remove the throttle body to position the intake tubing in? i ak because a common problem for people who remove the TB is that most people don't plug the wiring harness for the TB back in until they bolt the TB back on, and they try to snap it in place from underneath which is a bitch. if it's not in and comes loose, bam, instant 'Eng Pwr Red' flashing across your dash.
check all wiring harnesses starting from the first point of air entry (MAF) up to the TB, then check all the SC sensors, and check the 2nd map sensor/ait sensor (4 wire plug to the left of the SC on the intake manifold)

I've seen this twice. The first time the multiple codes were about MAF and MAP sensor not matching or something like that along with the TB errors......I cleaned the TB and everything was okay. The next time codes were about loss of power to TB.......... it was a loose plug.
as long as the job gets done and you pay $0 i guess you can be happy
if they tell you work needs to be done and it'll cost ya, thats bs. then take the aforementioned steps to rectify the issue.
post back after ya get it back. hope to hear it works out.

you have a new computer comin in? really?? thats funny. if you never got tuned, your stock pcm should be fine, but... meh, it's all under warranty. don't be surprised if that doesn't fix the problem.
everytime you disconnect the battery it'll clear the computer of dtc's, so your car will run fine until the problem pops up again, which i doubt is computer related.
are you going to the chevrolet dealer for your work? they sound pretty unknowledgeable. good luck

yea im gonna check that after they get done with it today and see if its plugged in all the way but im jus gonna let them do what they do.....i did give it hell sat after work racing my buddies nova but nothing happened and i thought for sure with me racin it would have thrown that code
I got the code a million times. They replaced the BARO, came back again a few months down the road. Turns out, bad wire running to the MAF. Make sure the screws are smaller than stock if they are holding the MAF in your aftermarket intake.
And FYI-Never cleaned my TB, never was my instigator.

regardless of what causes it, engine power reduced is caused by the computer not recieving proper inputs from various sensors regarding air & fuel: the Maf, the tps, the map, scip, cps, etc. anything air or fuel related. usually it's the damned TB, seeing as it gets dirty and can fault the easiest of the bunch. PCV ftl
got my car back yesterday and it hasnt done it yet but my idle is back to being gay like it was so now i gotta have them due the tsb all over again for it since its a new pcm
