Erratic Idle

I just got my stage 2 kit dealer installed on my 2007 SS/SC and the idle seems to be worse. I have done a search and found that many have said that the erratic idle gets better when the stage 2 kit is installed. When I get off the gas and press in the clutch, the idle drops to 500 then bounces to just under 1000 and settles in. Is there a fix for these symptoms, or is it something you just learn to live with?

Thanks,

-William

might try cleaning the throttle body. there's a how-to, it really helps and it's not hard at all to do

Thanks for idea, with just over 1500 miles on the car, I hope that I won't have to be cleaning the throttle body this often.

I know this is off topic and all, but do you work at BAE systems?

Eratic idle is common on all cobalts. Mine happens when my intake temps get really warm or the AC is on.

Not sure if that helps.

When my IAT gets about 100 mine goes ape **** on me.

No, I have a Brad Anderson Enterprises Top Fuel Hemi in my boat.

See the link to Blue Thunder, Mach 1 Project in my signature for pictures.

Yeah this is a common problem. Mine was terrible. Are you throwing any codes right now?

Cleaning the throttle body helped my car quite a bit. AC also has a lot to do with it.

i used to have the same problem, and it kept getting worse and worse. it was like a had a massive cam or somthing lol. and it got worst with the ac on...the car was actuley harder to drive with the ac on, it would buck pulling away , and almost stall when you pushed the clutch in.
i looked it up and found out about cleaning the TB. i also changed my plugs while i was at it....

perfect idle now. idk if it was due to the TB or going to a step colder plugs(dont think colder plugs mean alot at idle) , eather way the problem is gone and im happy.

It is jsut something to get used to. It still gets annoying sometimes but I would try and regap the plugs as well.
