Evap Problem possible fix....
Evap Problem possible fix....
Well today I purchased the evap valve that is located right beside the oil cap. It looks like the bad one problem was it stayed open all the time. Now I have a question, Will the CEL go away on its own or do I need to disconnect the battery and hope it doesn't come back up? So far I have no rough idle on a cold start and when I fill up the tank it no longer sputters so I think that was the problem. The car runs so much better but the damn light isn't going away.
I could have got it for 34 dollars on gmpartsdirect but I kinda wanted to get it yesterday and have it on before I took a trip to newport last night so I paid 45.95 total and it took me 5 mins to replace.
it will go away by it self even if u reset ur ecu or delete the code it will stay off i had the same problem.
its fixed =] i had the same prob with the p0171 that hasnt gone away if my car idles for too long it comes on with p0171 dont know what it is.

That sir is your cold air intake. Make sure that all the connections are completely sealed and check your maf and clean it. Mine had that and I noticed I had a small hole in one of the rubber sleeves and once I fix that it went away.
Im not really sure but looking at the lines im guessing its the black piece in the yellow box. One line comes from behind the motor and that line connects to the gas tank and the other one would connect to the throttlebody.

@recklessactn: look for the hard plastic like coming from in front of the thorttlebody and following it towards the engine bay. That line will be connected to it.

AC Delco part # 2141680...Just a little over $35 for it.
On the LNF, redline4 is right.
On the LSJ, it's mounted on a bracket. There is vacuum line running in front of the s/c going to just the right of the solenoid that needs to come off. The hose with the white clip on it is a little tricky, you have to press one side down and pull on the solenoid (once you take the bracket off the engine and get all the other lines taken off and plugs unplugged). The solenoid has to slide off the bracket so take a screwdriver and pry up the middle prong on the bracket and the solenoid will slide right off
After you put the new one back on, go to your local auto parts store and ask to use their OBDII scanner. At discount auto it's free you just let them see your id while you go clear the code

Btw, the price ya is 35 shipped but like I said i was willing to pay the extra ten to get it that day. Also it took around 7 good cycles before it cleared on its own.
