Has anyone tried doing a straightpipe exhaust on an 06' SS/SC? and if you have what did/does it sound like??

 

Pretty much any car straight piped will sound like **** because of all the rasp!! my buddy staight piped his jetta and it sounds like a lawn mower hahahahaha!

 

Try looking at SLP its what i have and its 2.5 pipe and the muffler is about the size of a 2 liter pop bottle that is straight through. it does not sound that bad a little rasp about 3 grand but bad.

 

What I did was cut out the muffler and replaced it with a straight pipe to the tip. My suggestion is unless u want ur car to sound very very loud don't do it lol. I kinda like it because I am not always reving it up high so it sounds really nice under 3000 rpms. It also backfires like a mother! lol.

 

My buddies redline had straight pipe on it, really loud and too raspy for my taste...

 

mine is only raspy when u reach 3000 rpms till like 4000.

 

Throw a turbo on that bitch and remove muffler.. sounds quite nice... ive actually gotten a nice comment from this really rich guy on palm beach island about how nice the car sounded.. no cat either...

What you should do is add a couple resonators... they are completely straight thru, and can really make the sound lose the raspy noise...
