Exhaust help

Ok im searching and i know ive seen it before i just dont member where.. ne ways my question is.... i know restriction is better for the supercharded engine, but whats the limit on the restriction before your not helping performance? 2.75 or 3inch?

for me i have a regular size intake, injen, and a vibrant gutted highflow downpipe and longtube headers, and the piping for the catback is some aftermarket junk that came with the car(i bought used a year ago) the size is unknown, im guessing its 2.5, bc it bolted to my downpipe just fine, and im fixing to install a 2.5 inlet-2.5 outlet vibrant muffler, question is, is my restriction fine? and will a wider opening in the piping(3inch) make the sound deeper?

or just direct me to the sticky that shows this answer...
thanks!

"most" choose 2.5" for the SS/SC up to about 250-275 HP, after that most will go to a 3.0"

A tuner can make your cel go away if your going with a catless downpipe

If you plan on upgrading the m62 to a turbo or larger super charger, go 3"
If not, stick with 2.5".

well the downpipe is too far for my 2nd O2 sensor to reach, and i know a tune will do it, but i don have one close by and i also am a bit short on the tuning cash side.. plus tuning a SSsc with only exhaust and intake is kinda pointless.. idk if i wanna tune it now when i might upgrade in the future with pulley size.. i figure a quick fix will help plus state inspection is coming up.. if i can keep them from checkin out my O2 sensor and seeing my "splice" job that i did and making me get a new one... that would be great

you can either call justin and he can turn your CEL's off or you can go to autozone or orielys and beg them to turn it off but most times they are whiney about getting in trouble. but justin is near austin and might come up for a meet on friday maybe.

You mean a O2 extention tube, so the moves the sensor away from the direct flow of exhaust?

For the vibrant there is only 1 02 Bung down stream. So if you're running a wideband you will need to weld in a 3rd.

i would say just take all the BS pieces off your car and get with Aaron @ turbotech for a good deal, he will get you what you need weather you know what it is or not. and he usually gives awesome deals,

Lol, go 3inch. Restriction is never good. Just saying. I thought we came stock at 2.5inch?|

Buy the ARK system. Big can looks iffy, but sound is godly a buddy of mine had it. Deep Tone, no rasp.
Chevy Cobalt 05-07 ARK GRIP Exhaust System / SS,SC

Christmas special is on for $741.30 rather than $1059.00. Wut a deal LOLZ

lmao! dam im gone for a day and i dont get a chance to say ne thing.... ok...
NO not goin 3 inch cuz i need restriction on my Supercharger...
Eric i do need to come chill with yall its been ages since ive had the chance....
and im not running wideband.. im keeping it simple for now.. and i know this straight pipe sounds like a pissed off bumble bee on steroids, and im TIRED OF IT! lmao! which is why im hoping my new muffler will help quiet the **** down... and.......
Im not gonna tune my car with ne1 right now cuz im a broke ass ***** luva! lol
i know there is this O2 Sensor that will give a "false" good reading to the computer saying that the O2 sensor is reading properly when its just a lil chip in the down pipe bung fooling the computer.. i was jus curious... and i woulda gone with Corsa but i already had the Vibrant DP and Header so i stuck with Vibrant for the muffler.. the catback is what came with the car when i bought it so i had no control over that.. and i dont have 500$ to toss at the exhaust lol.. well.. not right now
thanks for all yalls help tho!
