A complete tuned exhaust system will actually do a lot more than people give it credit for. How many of you here know the stock manifold is only a 1.75" collector? Our supercharged engine exhaust uses the same principles NA cars do (just more of everything), so the effects of exhaust design are even more noteworthy.

Design your exhausts for top-end torque and you'll see some impressive gains since that is where the power is made. And for the counter-argument of "I want good low - mid torque!". In a race that occurs only once - at launch and the rest of the time a nice 7K redline will keep the RPM in the high range after each shift.

o.p. i think you're around 225whp. stage 2 does not produce 240whp on a mustang dyno.

p.s. there are fast turbo hondas out there.. they are often overlooked, cause they only cost $10 to build.. and are often multi colored with cut springs... but they move

but for every 1 that is fast, there are 20 that can't outrun a golf cart.

dont beat yourself up about it, theres always somebody faster.

I don't get it. Header was rated at 15 hp and who knows how much a pulley gets....... My point is, I wasn't calling attention for my "260" hp comment (which I was apparently wrong about, but I am not contesting it) , I was asking if I am suffering from having a stock exhaust.
the car will pull harder up top with a Full exhaust. but it will feel sluggish to you during daily driving.

with just a catback, your gains will not be enough to feel in the seat of your pants, you'll just annoy people.

the money from a catback could be better spent on meth injection, or a modest shot of nitrous.
if hp per dollar is your concern... a catback is not the way to go.

the sluggish part is from the stock tune.

that lil civic is a monster.

i made two passes in it.
first, missing third bigger than ****

12.27@120

second pass after i let it cool down a second

10.93@134 {i hit third}

this was just a throwback to your turbo honda thing. you can't always judge a book by it's cover. because whats under that cover may be one hell of a roller coaster ride.

torque steer at 130 mph on slicks is a hand full

but you know there are at least 20 slow hondas you could put right next to that one, and other than the intercooler... you wouldnt be able to tell the difference. thats all i meant.
the junkyard turbo ones are what i was talking about. that one was probably well built.

hahaha, my educated guess.......235whp.

I think intense claimed 255whp on that setup, and they were WAY OFF for the average person. I have seen one car with a stage 3 make as little as 195whp.

yepo, sleeved, t66, all the toys. fun lil car.

there is a bunch of single cam turbo cars around here i just laugh at. and stock b16 turbo cars i make angry as well. i know all of the guys who have the fast ones. we talk alot so i know what to look out for on the street.

besides. most people around here know my car as it is, and know the reputation that proceeds it. which might explain why i rarely get any races.

Way off. Try 11.1 @ 129 BONE STOCK. Or 10.85 @ 130 with DR's, also BONE STOCK beside DR. Hell a bone stock 2004 Z06 with Evan Smith behind the whell hit a 11.97.

JohnnyB already proved 12whp with the GMPP cat back only exhaust on a completely stock SS/SC. So with your mods you should def. be seeing more of a gain than he did.
PS. he dynoed before and after right away.
Nice numbers on the dyno, show that you are running strong. Dont let the ass hats tell you otherwise, adjusted, not adjusted etc. Use the dyno as an evaluation tool for your own car, keep the new numbers to yourself as everyone hear calls bs on most peoples numbers because a= jealous b= ignorant c= nothing better to do.
Good luck with your exhaust choice.

put a fart can and custom crush bent 3" piping on it for maximum horse. probabley looking at 60.5-63.75 HP increase.

only kidding...i was sorta wondering the same thing. if my hp was being restricted a little due to stock exhaust.

huge gains

i think you def dont have 260whp with that setup, you would see huge gains from a 2.5-3in exhaust i have 3in and have not returned to the dyno yet but from the feel and by racing my buddys cobalt i would say there was huge gains from the 3in with no loss in tq like everyone on this site claims but once again have to wait and see when i return to the dyno if i were you i would go with a custom 3in because no one out there makes a good bolt in setup that i could find

I'm assuming the dyno numbers in your sig are w/o the nitrous, and I hope on a Mustang Dyno...

Ahhh, got the laughing gas part now. But still curious if it was a dynojet or mustang dyno. Either really average numbers or really impressive numbers...

When I get my exhaust am I gonna notice a huge difference in power because I haven't been getting the real benefits of my mods so far? I don't know if this is even logical, I'm just wondering how I lost to a turbocharged integra (not type r). When I am assuming by my mods, that I have about 260 whp.
Yea I think the Exhaust will help

Rule of thumb is get the coolest air you can & open up the intake as best you can so the motor can pull or with our SC cars push as much cool air in as it can & then you need to be able to let it out to, so with your mods you have started with the intake side now help it out with the exhaust side!

I dynoed 238.4 HP on a dyno jet & 221.5 on a mustang with just STG 2
I have since added Injen CAI & a 2.85 SC pulley & have not yeat dynoed again But I need exhaust to so I'm going with the GMPP Performance as I like the sound.

I think you will like the gains will they be as high as 260 ? who knows but do what you want & I can only say you have done half of the mods to help the motor breath so why not do the rest.

My next mod will be the dual pass end plate to reduce heat soke!
