well i was driving on i-400 today i went to shift into fourth gear and the car fell flat on its face i dident get any lights on the dash or any thing on the info display i new there was a dealership about three exits away so i limped the car there and when i got out you could smell somthing burning and the manifold was glowing red i think that the cat came apart has this happend to anybodey else and if so what was it and how long did it take to get fixed also it is a ss-sc

How fast were you going and were u trying to really accelerate or just accelerating normally?

i was going about 70mph i wasent accelerateing to hard about normal i guess

 

well the service department told me that it was a bad crank shaft sensor it dosent make sence to me thay also said that the part was on back order so it is going to be a while this sucks i miss my ss

 

I had the same problem Joe at 2400 Miles. Bad Crankshaft Sensor.

 

thats just about what all the RL's had to go thru so im not supprised that the balts had to too

well my dealership is nice enough to let me drive mine while parts are on order, i've been waiting on a new front lip, and new hose from intake to wherever it goes, a new door panel and the nasty defect in the paint in the from driver side fender for well over a month... these things are taking forever to get, you should have your car back within a month... that's no help, but it is taking a friggin long ass time for the parts for the cobalt ss...

well thay are paying for the rental car which is a cobalt ls so it isent that bad

 

thay now say that the part will be in some time next week

 

it has been almost two weeks and still no part thay said that it might be in next week this really sucks i miss my car thay gave me a cobalt ls to drive it isent to bad but there isent any super charger whine

 

lol by the time i turned a laoner car back it it would be squealing like it had a supercharger on it
