exhaust question

Hey guys,

Just need some input for an exhaust. Going to buy a 2.5inch system in the near future and I'm liking the GGMP system. I want a deep tone and something thats about medium loud. Not so loud its annoying and you can hear me blocks away, but not so quiet that you can barely hear it. Just wonder if there were any other systems I should check out from your experience.

Thanks again

Corsa has a system out that sounds very good. Also if you can get a hahn exhaust sounds great on our cars

By GGMP, do you mean GMPP? Because their exhaust(s) shrink down to 2.25".

My vote for a 2.5" exhaust is ZZP

I just bought a hahn 3" it has the best sound according to most of the peoples reviews on this board and on youtube. Also hahn is having a sale and 3" will always net you a bit more power than a 3" at the power levels I am trying to get to (over 400) 3" is a no brainer. 2.5 inch should be fine for up to 350 but all in my opinion and the cars I have run. Everyone has their own ideas about this.

Others I liked but would need the bracket modified would be.
Turboxs
Vibrant
Maybe zzp with a resonator.

When i was SC i would have kept the lsj exhaust (2.5-2.25 over axle)or maybe just went with a lnf exhaust (2.5 throughout) at most. Our exhaust systems arent power killer with maybe a basic muffler upgrade. You can use your money elsewhere. Both stock exhausts breathe well and are mandrel bent. Do some searches, there are lots of threads of how good the stock tubing is. The exhausts I listed above were based on tone and power output.

right on, for a sleeper sound and a great breathing exhaust the LNF exhaust modified for the lsj can be had for 125 on ebay, then take it to an exhaust shop for a new flange. Cheap effective 2.5" catback.

hahn only has complete 3" exhaust systems, you would have to get a magnaflow, vibrant, or other muffler to weld on.

If you want a deep sound, I would definitely get a 3" system. I had the GMPP system for a while and didn't really like it. It didn't flow very well IMO and it had a nasty drone at cruising rpm's. I jumped at the opportunity to buy a used Hahn 3" system 3+ years ago and have been happy as a pig in **** ever since! lol. I now have a vibrant header, which makes my exhaust twice as loud as it was in this video with the stock header... And I love it even more now!

Black Friday is around the corner and ZZP is having a sale...
I personally have the vibrant 2.5" on my 2.4 s/c and it sounds nice IMO.

I would say just about anything would be a better choice than the GMPP catback. It's 2.25" and has a big ass resonator that hits on speed bumps if you are lowered even slightly.

I don't think you can go wrong if you go with ZZP and choose the quality muffler and resonator options. The Hahn system is nice, but pricey if purchased new.

correct me if im wrong but i thought i read somewhere that you could lose some power with the 3 inch if your not heavly modded. which im not going all out. and I could have sworn I saw that hahn had a 2.5 system. And good to know because i have plans of lowering the car in the future.

My butt dyno tells me I didn't LOSE anything. Some people say you lose low end torque, but i haven't noticed. The car pulls much harder in the top half of the rpm range. I don't even have a stage kit yet.
The vibrant header was a nice upgrade also.
