Exhaust question

I was wondering if you took off the muffler an went with a performance resinator only, what kind of sound and performance you could gain from that. I am all about the right sounding exhaust and I like more interior resinance the most that way you can really feel the exhaust tone not just hear it. Not so much that it will give you a head ack on long drives but aggressive. I have a Z71 pickup right now and awating a SS/SC at the degining of the year. I have a Magnaflow duel exhaust on the truck, And on the V8 it sounds alsome very deep tone. As I think up a wish list for the cobalt I was hopeing someone could give me ideas as which exhaust combination would yield that type of sound (Not raspy but smooth, Deep at a relativly higher volume then stock.) This car will be my first 4 banger so no I am not expecting that Deep v8 sound but something similar respectivly. I was thinking of buliding my own an not getting a prefabed cat back system. Maybe a Magnaflow no res with 3" pipe, or a res only with 3". Anyway just wanted an opinion from someone with 4 cyl, exper.

it would sound horriable and you would have alot of pops going on. ehhhhh IMO its best to get a performance muffler than none at all.......... put it this way itll sound better with a 4" fart can on the back then nothing........

yeah.....the only way to get a nice low sound is toget the muffler closer to the engine... but there's not alot of options for that. there will be a resonator released pretty soon that can be used in conjunction with any custom exhausts that sounds crazy...

here's a link to it http://www.ricermath.com/sspics/exhaust.wmv that's with no cat, the resonator and a flowmaster 40 delta muffler.. right now it sounds like crap cause i blew a baffle on the muffler... i need to get it out of there, but i'm too busy working

Stay on topic, you don't just ask a random question in any thread. Thats bad netiquette.

Do a search and look through some threads before you just start your own thread.
