it's pretty common for the heat shield to rattle a little bit. easiest way to tell is to jack the car up, start it, and get under it and listen. i had a pretty nasty rattle over my heatshield, when i was installing the exhaust i pushed the sheild up by accident so it was resting on the underside of the car. it's really flimsy. i just used a big screwdriver to pry it back a little bit, problem solved.

yeah because i crawled under it alittle and shook it and nothing sounded loose, so i'll check out the heat sheild when i get a chance... but thats really the only place for a rattle, not clamp problems?

I have the same problem, and a friend suggested it was the heat shield. Now to find where it's located..

Most likely the heat shield, as soon as I got my solid mounts I started hearing a similar noise as you, got under the car and bent the heat shield near the rear up some, and problem fixed.

if the clamp was rattling around, it's probably because it's loose, and if it was that loose you would hear a pretty nasty exhaust leak. my money is on the heatsheild. but next time you get under there have someone start the car up, will give you a better idea. won't hurt to double check that everything is tight as well.
