A few Questions about Exhaust Stuff
So I've been contemplating doing some exhaust work to my Redline, and I've come across a few questions. I'm sure these have been discussed over and over again, so I do apologize for that. My Redline is all stock with the exception of an AEM SR intake.
For the exhaust itself, I've decided I will probably get the GMPP Sport exhaust. I've been reading a lot of threads on here about the exhaust, and how it can easily be made to work on the Redline. Thats not what I've got questions about. Crate Engine Depot says on their website that that exhaust system will boost the Cobalts up 12 hp. Is that really true? What kind of gains can I expect on my Redline?
I've also been wondering about exhuast manifolds and down pipes. Can anyone recommend a good combo? I don't really do much drag racing. My car is basically a daily driver, although I do race for fun in a few Autocross events over the summer. Also, would a new downpipe call for removal of my cat? I wouldn't want to do it if it means removing the cat.
Finally, I was wondering how much louder a full exhaust set up (manifold, downpipe, and cat-back exhaust) would be. I put a catback on my old car (94 Integra), so I know how loud just an exhaust is. Do the new manifold and downpipe add much noise? Also, what kind of gains can I expect from a full exhaust set up?
Once again, sorry if this is discussed all the time. I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to exhuasts between the engine and cat, lol.

My set up will be:
Custom "UBER" ported GM Manifold
ZZP 3" to 2.5" downpipe with cat
Custom 2.5" piping with Magnaflow Race Series Muffler

The stock dp is also adequate for the GMPP cat-back systems.
