Cool Finally 13s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...... :)

Switched to bigger meth nozzle and of course more tuning and timing from last week.

and well here it is, personal bests in everything except the 60ft

rt .011
60 2.392
330 6.285
1/8 9.289
MPH 82.20
1000 11.83
1/4 13.935
MPH 106.51

The run was far from perfect though. I spun the crap out of first gear and wheelhopped pretty bad. I felt heavy torque steer at the top of 3rd gear for the first time and it caught me off guard. When your at 90mph+ and your front end is starting to get loose the first reaction is to back off but I just stayed in it and because of being distracted by that I hit the rev limiter at the top of 3rd. The entire pass was also high 10s on AFR, the methanol was richening me by about a little over a half point.

Perfect or not I feel as if a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I've chasing this for years with different cars.

Your car is a 13.3 second car at least with the right traction (Based on your trap speed).

I'm happy for you. Just imagine with a 1.9 60ft and my DRs on there. 2.392 - 1.999 (with DR's at least) = .492 .492 * 2 = .984 13.935 - .984 = 12.951

Your car could hit high 12s imho....

Get some more tunning, I still think you could lean it out a bit more. 11.5-11.7 is safe right? Even so with some traction your going low 13s for sure.

I'm real happy for you Matt. Keep fighting the fight brother.

Congrats; you finally hit that 13!
Do you have all the solid mounts and traction bars? You shouldn't be wheel hopping...

10s for AFR huh? Definately try and bring that to a consistant 11.6-11.7, and richening back up around 5500-7500 to 11.3-11.4.

Whats your rev-limiter set to?

Btw, look into setting your suspension up for drag. Ex: Stiffening the rear shocks, or drag bags, and raising it up 3-4 inches. And a medium-high on the front strut/spring assembly. Should help you grab a bit better

no offense, there might be a post I'm missing about tuning issues you're having or something. But why was your goal to hit the 13's?

and how did you only hit 13.9? Aren't you one of the guys with a blower swap? You've wasted your money if that's the case. I don't have meth and I hit a 13.9 on (i'm told) a slow track, with a 2.9" pulley, exhaust and intake.

Chris SS/SC, I hit 106mph on the run I just mentioned. I'm not a 13.3 car. With traction, a new clutch, and the header/dp and tune that I have now I'll be lucky to hit 13.5.

Im running 17 inch redline Ion wheels

Of course tires are in the future but not right now along with axles and a new clutch but thats going to be in spring or later I'm done modding and racing for the year now.

I have traction bars and solid motor mounts and I still wheel hop

How I'm only at 13.9 was explained, it was far from the perfect run. You also have to factor in I'm like the world's worst drag racer and this is the best I ever did. The Reaction time would hint I have some potential though

Nice job at least your trap is up a bit, now lets lean it out and see what else you can pull out of it.

excuse me?
What don't you understand?

Reaction Time - RT, has nothing to do with ET or Trap speeds, it only matters if youare bracket racing.

never said it had an effect on et, but the key to winning many races at the track (events and such) is done at the tree, I have higher goals here than test and tunes

Oh I know you didn't... It was the other guy who did.

And yah your RT was almost perfect, so if you can do that consistently you'd be set for winning some events for sure

Follow me here... This thread was about ET's and someone finally hitting 13's... So in reference to that, RT doesn't matter. That's what I said, and it was related to the topic of this thread... Makes sense to me...

And 99.99 percent of everyone on here posts time slips from test-n-tunes etc.. where RT doesn't matter. I've never seen a single post about bracket racing etc...

What ever dude... I was just telling rodimus that it was an awesome rt time... And if he was in a bracket or what ever, then yea.. but... seriously bro... why are u making a big deal about it?

this was his thread, and what place was it of your to say that something he was reletiviely proud of didnt matter? If your trying to make a point.. whoppee... i think rt matters, even when it doesnt matter, i think its still cool... you dont... the end... Keep it to yourself.

btw congrats again prime... When are u going to do the leaning out?
