First Dealer service

ok so i went up to Vans chevy today with a list of probs.
Paint is uncleared on bumper
scratches on bumper\
alignment went left(they told me had no specs until today)
brake wear on fronts
door aplique peeling
wheels were all torqued to only 50
pass. side dorr accent leather peeling
breakin oil chage

i talked to the tech the whole time
as i am an ASE tech as well

we pulled the right front camber out .05 + by filing the strut and sliding the bolt...no more pull
but i got the build sheet, align. specs, and a how to on the filter change, it takes 6.25qts mobil1 synth 5w-30
by the way the intercooler coolant is driven by an electric water pump at the front of the motor
after i left there i went to the body shop and they ordered my paint and aplique for the bpillar
told me to drop it off mon for the front clip to be painted

oh and the Atech told me that he had put a new PCM in my car the day after they got it on the lot(mine was 1st sold) so within the first 30 miles it had a bad PCM

so im glad it is coming together

My pass. side Red door accent is peeling up as well. Its where they cut the oval out for the window/lock controls. The leather is sneaking out from under that plastic piece.

Since they are fixing yours, I guess I'll give it a shot at my dealer.

They should! I dunno about you but I have already had about 3 mail in surveys from GM, one from JD power and I also got a 1/2 hour phone interview from some polling group. GM really seems to care what people think about the car.

Yeah becuase if the cobalt fails all CHevy has left for an econo car would be the Aveo...?? After having the cavalier sell well for soo many years they want to make sure the cobalt does even better to compete with these supposedly "godly" Japanese car companies

I am not sure exactly what type of "A" your tech was Jap....but the 2.0L LSJ and the 2.2L L61 ECOtec engines both take a MAX of 5.0 quarts of oil....most dipsticks read in the safe range after 4.5 qts.....Ive never put 6.25 qts in an ecotec...and hope your mechanic didnt other....GM service information and the owners manual that came with your car BOTH say 5.0qts.....check your your dipstick to make sure your not overfull....and if your not check your reciept to see if you got banged for 6.25qts of Mobil1....if you did complain to the service manager and ask to see in writing where your car takes that much oil....have your owners manual with you. You stated your wheels were only torqued to 50.when they were torqued they should be torqued to 100ftlb.

I've noticed the brake wear, well the grooves on the front rotors already after only 2500miles....I need some other things in the paint fixed...other than that everything is a-ok!

I got 5 qts in my car when I had the oil changed (at a dealer). The only thing I asked for was to make sure it was Mobil 1.

I got it home let it cool off and checked the dip stick and it was full.

man at 5 qts the stick wasnt even wet, we were like, "did they use the same dipstick for the SS"

im thinking larger oil pan plus the 2.0 has a piston oil jet for cooling, that may require greater quantity

Fill level wont effect oil pressure unless its too low to be picked up in sump, And I as I already posted GM Service Manuals AND your OWNERS MANUAL stae 5qts and they are correct....I doubt my car, Zinners car, and the 3 or 4 I serviced already take 5 and yours is special and takes 6.25..but more power to you if you wanna overfill it.
