First track outing with my SS/SC

After finishing up the paint work and getting the car put back together, I wanted to get to the track so I could start getting some seat time. Current mods on the car:
ZZP 3" intake
LS4 throttle body
Stock supercharger with 2.6 pulley
Stock head with 78 lb valve springs
Stock cam
ZZP single pass intercooler
ZZP heat exchanger
ZZP electric water pump
60 lb injectors
ZZP header
ZZP shortie exhaust
Running on E85
Slicks on Centerline wheels

Since Martin doesn't have any test and tunes any time soon, we had to go up to Stanton on Sunday. Things didn't go as planned because there was 4 rain delays and a 20 mph head wind. Our plan of making a bunch of passes to get everything dialed in didn't work out so well. We also found the LNF trans that we are running in this car is not good for the supercharged LSJ. The tall gears are hurting performance quite a bit, but we installed it in anticipation of the twincharge setup we will be installing soon. For the 1st pass, I launched real light and ran a 12.9 at 106. We had the timing set very conservative just wanting to get some logs and go from there. We added a little timing and for the 2nd pass, I got a pretty good launch in the 1.7s, but missed 3rd gear and ran 12.79 at 104. We added a little more timing and I ran a 12.67 at 108.9. The launch was not real good only in the mid 1.8s. For the next pass, we had the timing set up close to what we ran on the dyno and I planned on launching quite a bit harder. As I pulled into the water box, it started raining for the 5th time and they called it for the day. All in all, it was worth while to get out and do some tuning, but the day could have went much better. We might go back to the track with the supercharger one more time, but I'm not sure. I really think that I can get a 12.3 out of the car but, I really want to get the twincharge setup installed. What do all of you think, stay blower for one more track visit or get the twincharge kit installed?

Here are some more pics of the car that I didn’t have in the original twincharge post. I still have a few things to finish up on the car. I will be running black LNF wheels on the street and will get some more pics of the outside of the car up soon.

One more track visit would be cool to see if you can get any lower. Good job though it sounds really good.

Great job! I would like to see another all out track day with the M62. Get the car dialed in on a good track night, and run that **** deeper into the 12's. Great work, and I'll have to save this so I can see the video when I have access to youtube.

Also, what size slicks and wheels are you rocking?

i meant the internal parts and gaskets/seals. I'm quite certain that E85 would prematurely erode the components.

The gaskets and seals in our cars are made from synthetic materials thus we are pretty much good to go for running E85 with a good tune.

Hey, those are my socks you're talking about! Could be worse, they don't come up to my knees or anything.

I wish we could have got that last pass in. Ryan kept launching like an old lady.

electric water pump??? more info. also what were you reving to. 108 isn't that great of a trap tho... I was running 106 on the same slicks with zero clutch for the 1-2 shift...had to let rpms drop down below 3k before letting out the clutch again.

congrats ryan, that's an impressive time and finally someone new grabs the top Stock SC spot!!!!

Keep up the great work! I think you should throw in the LSJ trans and try it one more time! Those ultra long gears aren't helping at all.

You're right but Ryan built the car for twin charging where he'll have a lot more torque. We didn't realize it would be as bad as it was though. We had hoped the car would be light and therefore not as sensitive to tall gearing but the cage, intercooling, etc probably added as much as we saved with light components
